On a Sunday afternoon, Pokerstars is losing badly to GG Poker in terms of the number of online players.

I took the screenshots below a few minutes ago. Is this the end of Pokerstars?😯🤔

And, more sharks, which may be detrimental for new players or novice ones.

Pokerstars is still the 2nd largest site & others are far behind. Pokerstars will still be around when many other sites vanish. Pokerstars is still very active all around Asia with live events.

Even if the GG poker number is not that accurate, the PS numbers are really bad, specially if you think that today is Sunday, which supposed to be the best day to play poker.

Stars had almost 10,000 entrants in the Sunday Million today & over 14,000 in the Sunday Storm. On the Sunday Million alone, they made almost $100k in rake!

Stars is owned by Flutter Entertainment.

It has been clear to everyone for a long time that PokerStars is in decline. Their business strategy was wrong and it is having its consequences. I think in a few years we will see this brand being taken over by another more powerful player in the market.

I think it's becasue PS cancelled their contracts with ambassadors like Negreanu, who is obviously alone is reposnsible for like 20%+ of traffic at GG )

It is sad for the old people 🤔 to see what is happening with PokerStars but the world, or rather the new generations have a different perspective or a different orientation according to completely different criteria (must be wow 😉). The customer service aspect that was the platform's differentiator is now very limited, probably due to the drastic reduction of its team, and it is almost impossible to receive any assistance. Practically the platform is just waiting for the final completion of the sale of its remaining stake of shares to Flutter Entertainment.

Is it the common sense part of my post that you're having difficulty understanding?

I'm just glad there's another site I can play on. I look at online poker as a privilege... not a given.

Is it because they've stopped giving you FREE money in the CC Stars freerolls that you want the company to fail?

Yes, Negreanu is where the money is, and no one can blame him for that. PokerStars has made some stupid changes. As a high stake cash game player, who does not have access to GG, there is rarely action above NL1000 on Stars.

Its hardly the end, they still have plenty of players and many more than most other sites. As long as there are enough cash games going PS is still fine by me. Don't really understand the appeal of getting raked to death on GG.

Yes, 99% of what PokerStars offers in terms of freeroll is hyper satellites, rebuy, and 1000 chips only. I don't see any freeroll that is exciting or encouraging us to play there.

The problem is that simple users are the ones who bring volume and money to the rooms. I believe that around 70% of the money distributed in freerolls returns to the room as players end up paying buy-in with the money they get in the freeroll. The PS shot itself in the foot by eliminating freerolls. Could have reduced or added tournament prize money that cannot be withdrawn.

As for the leadership being with GG Poker now, in my opinion it is completely normal for Poker rooms to rotate the leadership. The PS was the leader for a long time. Now the GG. At some point another room will take the lead. You can't stay in the lead forever. And it's good even for us players that there is this rotation. The rooms that are left behind end up needing to offer benefits to bring players back.
As for freerolls on PS, I hope things on PS get even worse. Then they will return with freerolls to bring players back.
