No.

Then the Swedish government told them to jump (aka not giving anything back to Swedish players) they said "How high?" or maybe in this case "How low?".

Don't feel like giving them one cent in rake.

The platform changed its target audience after that reformulated its rewards program at the beginning of the year, removing weekly challenges and introducing the Power Path ticket distribution system. In theory, it says that the goal is to offer a transparent program that benefits the vast majority of players. Now, in practice, the effect is the opposite, because it benefits those who already had a high volume much more.

I definitely don't like the path that PokerStars management has chosen, but it's their choice. I believe that the policy they have been pursuing in recent years is simply leading to decline, and the prospects for this site are rather vague. I think if everything continues like this, it's quite likely that in 5-7 years this site will simply cease to exist.

There are things that pokerstar has to change if it wants to remain in the market for several more years, I think it should take more drastic measures and ensure that this can change very soon.

Lots of tournaments happening, great WCOOP series happening right now. I played a $11 tourney the other day and 1st place paid out more than $10,000 That sounds pretty freak'n excellent to me!
And for those who enjoy playing in mixed games Tournaments, there are many happening this month! And where else will you find that online?

PokerStars was gaining popularity at a frantic pace and now it is losing it at a frantic pace. Given the changes that have taken place in recent years, this is not surprising. I think PokerStars is a site that is gradually becoming a thing of the past.

Obviously no. Volume has been declining for 15 years, and it hurts game selection and everything else. Even just 5 years ago, before Covid, there was far more activity in SnGs and cash games, larger fields in MTTs and more different games to choose from. But less and less people play online poker, and those, who still do, increasingly prefer newer sites like GG Poker and WPT Global. And at the end of the day the past is not coming back. So we can either play on PokerStars, as it is now in 2024, or not play there. Those are our choises, and it does not matter, if we like them or not.

I think that it says more about the lack of other top quality market competitors than it does about Pokerstars.

Yes as Fundiver correctly states above, volume has been declining for many years now, i still play stars, i like stars still but it is essentially a greedy money making and profit orientated business.
Pokerstars does target high spends and rewards the high end players as someone previously mentioned but i still prefer their layout against others, i think also players play their because its stars and it holds some prestige, i don't subscribe to that opinion personally but i have seen it discussed in poker forums outside of CC and on Twitch and Discord.

Unless some miracle happens I expect Stars to crumble in five years.
WCOOPs and such create some traffic spikes but normally it's only tenth what GG has these days.

you don't need to play poker 24 hours a day 7 days a week - then even the most enjoyable can get bored in any area of life

So just like almost any other business? Maybe there are some businesses, that have other goals than profit, but you wont find them in the gambling industry.

Personally I play less there, since they raised the rake for most single table SnGs earlier this year. But I still play there sometimes, because there is 24 hour activity in SnGs and a wide selection of MTTs.

Some businesses as greedy as they may be do actually reinvest and offer better incentives and rewards i guess is the point i am making.

From what i read, The Stars Group was planning to sell its minority shares to Flutter Entertainment by the end of the year. Now, i don't know if this will happen, even because these things take a while.

I used to say that PokerStars is one of the best poker rooms, in fact the best of them. The management of this room had a visionary vision to attract the largest possible number of players, and it actually succeeded, but the recent management decisions did the opposite and dispensed with amateur players whose deposit does not exceed 10 or 20 dollars per month, as it placed a high ceiling on this level of players and deprived them of several free tournaments that encouraged them to continue playing and deposit even small amounts in this room.
I don't know if this is intelligence, advancement, or stupidity on the part of management, as the number of PokerStars users is constantly declining.
I now play daily in good, valuable tournaments and daily free tournaments on ACR, to the point that I no longer care about pokerstars.

I previously said in one of my posts that the current management of PokerStars will lead to it losing its popularity and value among other poker rooms if it continues to be managed in this stupid manner.

I think it's pretty good and I feel fortunate to be able to play on there.
This past couple weeks I was able to participate in their chests & ladders promo (rake $3/day to get a spin of the dice to climb the ladder). I managed to get 5x $11 WCOOP tickets in it & won ~$100 playing only at 10nl. SO far I've used 3 of the tickets & with two of them I've managed deep runs, picking up over $500 in the two cashes.

I only wish I could've played A LOT more on Stars this month... there's some excellent tournaments running on there right now! Where else can you play 2-7 Triple Draw $22 buyin MTT with over $10k prizepool? Or Stud Hi, Razz, Stud 8, PLO, even 5cd draw ffs. I'll tell you where... NO WHERE! Stars tournament series are more like the real deal imo... the newer sites are mostly NLHE.
