Hello, CardsChat people!
If you're like me and play poker for fun, but don't turn down the chance to win some cash, you might have wondered: what's the best room for recreational players? Let me share what I discovered:

888poker
A more recreational-friendly environment.
It has daily freerolls and inexpensive satellites, like the $1.10 ones with 5 guaranteed seats to larger tournaments.
Simple interface and an attractive welcome bonus.

PokerStars
An online poker giant, but be careful: the average level is higher, so the chance of finding regs is higher.
Good for those who enjoy a variety of games (not just Texas Hold'em).

GGPoker
A modern platform, full of fun features.
It has huge tournaments, but be careful: the slightly higher rake and large fields can be difficult for beginners.

My tip:
If your goal is to play calmly, have fun, and maybe win a freeroll, 888poker is the best option of the three. The field is softer, and the low-cost KO tournaments are great for gaining experience without taking too much risk.

Do you have any tips for good freerolls or promos for recreational players?

Definitely, 888 is the best option. I play there regularly and often increase my bankroll solely thanks to freerolls. In addition, 888 cooperates with our community and hosts our CardsChat freerolls, which is another significant advantage.
As for PokerStars, it has lost its relevance for me. GGpoker is also a good option, but definitely not as good as 888.

Partypoker and WPT are excellent rooms for recreational players. Partypoker, in particular, offers several satellites and freerolls for larger tournaments.

I love PokerStars for the opportunity to qualify for the Sunday Million for just a couple of dollars — or sometimes another big tournament instead. For example, this week I qualified for a $75 PKO with a $400K prize pool.
