Hello poker family.
This post is only my opinion about the Pokerstars room. In no case do I urge you to leave this room, and even more so I do not set you against it. I'm just telling you why I've become less likely to play at Pokerstars, and why I'm not liking it anymore. Of course, each player has his own preferences for the room, up to likes or dislikes. But I will name 4 reasons that clearly do not play in favor of the stars)
#1 The field is very strong
Pokerstars is a very popular room and has the highest concentration of players on the web. You don't have to think that all the regulars play for high stakes. Simply no. There are many players who have carved their niche at the low and mid stakes. If in other rooms it is enough to have up to 50 buy-ins per limit. Pokerstars needs 100 or even 200 buy-ins. The chances of winning here are much lower. You will meet very serious opponents, all sharks. No one will give you victory, everyone will fight to the last blind. If you get shoved, be sure - the hand is very strong.
#2 Number of players in tournaments
A large schedule of tournaments and the popularity of this room create the highest variance in the fight for prizes. At Pokerstars, at any tournaments, players are registered much more than in other rooms. This is especially true for low limits. Several thousand very strong players will almost always play against you. It is necessary to prepare for the fact that the session will be very long. You will get more tired, which means there will be more stupid mistakes. I'm not saying that it will always be like this, but it will be much more difficult to maintain concentration.
#3 Freerolls
Of course, at Pokerstars they go throughout the day. The problem is that the prizes are very difficult to get. The starting stack is usually only 12 blinds, the structure is very fast, and there are over a thousand people playing against you. Difficulty also starts with the number of seats. Sometimes there are only 2 tickets. It seems to me that it would be better to hold freerolls only a few times a day, but to play more tickets)
#4 Rake and rakeback
The rake at Pokerstars, starting from low limits, can be higher than that of competing rooms. The rakeback here is also significantly lower than in other rooms. The difference can be only up to 5% in some places, nevertheless it is present. I'm not saying that this is a weighty argument, but still I decided to add it.
