Yeah — some players are being moved over, but it’s not a widespread “WPT Global shutting down everywhere” thing. What’s been reported so far is that a segment of WPT Global Canadian players received emails saying their accounts will be transferred to a new platform called Nexa Poker. It looks like a different skin but with similar games and design.

From what people online are talking about, no one’s completely sure why this shift is happening yet. There hasn’t been an official big announcement explaining the reasoning — whether it’s a licensing issue, a strategic pivot, or something else. It seems targeted at certain accounts rather than global deactivation.

Some chatter on social channels suggests this might be tied to market or regulatory changes (especially in Canada), but again that’s mostly speculation right now. No solid clarity from WPT Global itself yet.

If you’re affected, definitely check the email they sent and reach out to support — and maybe post here what region you’re in to see if others got the same notice.

Would be interesting to know if it’s just Nexa as a new brand or part of a bigger shift behind the scenes.

Everything is normal here (in Brazil, at least for me).

Let's see what our colleagues from the Canadian CC have to say!

This is probably good thing, they can get different license. WPT Global is doing many good things, I love them <3

I just wish they would fix their laggy and heavy client so it's easier to play there.

How else would they make money if not by mining on our computers? lol

A good thing? How so? That does not make sense as their player pool is not very big.

If they do that to your account u would be unable to play any cc game on global and i highly doubt u would be happy about it.

Doesn't this news just mean that their account changes to NexaPoker.com but the actual player pool and games they play remains in WPT Global? They just use NexaPro site for different license. That's how many sites do it, like GGPoker also has Olybet and Natural8 skins, PartyPoker has LadBrokers for UK based customers.

If it's new player pool then yes I agree it's horrible news.

Could be that player pool stays the same but CC games will become 100 % invisible as they are only available on the main skin(s) everywhere.

Yeah that is bad news if it happens that way.

I can't play on WPT from the UK, but in the PP example, there are no CC freerolls on Ladbrokes, only on Partypoker.....so if this works similar then players being moved would no longer be able to access the CC games from NexaPoker

Canadian here(east coast) no email yet and I just tried to login to WPT and had no issues so still all good here. They move me to NexaPoker I'll just withdraw my money and go else where no problem.

Cheers!!!
