100 million? It is clear that nobody will stop that in this market. It's a shame but if he maintains that position we will have to wait for the next market to see if Arsenal can get Mudryk's services
Some commentators are saying that Arsenal might be able to swing a deal is they say offered Euros 60 million with incentives and add ons if Mudryk performs as well as expected, but I am not confident even that will work out.
For instance, Danilo from Palmeiras is expected to cost around 25 to 30 million and he is also felt to have huge potential. Of course he did not get a showcase in the Champions League this season...but the point is Arsenal could pick up two players (even three) showing serious potential for one Mudryk...but we'll see.
The other thing that Arsenal have to be sensible about is their ambition. Start of the season it was a Champions league place, top four. Because they have done so well, now the temptation is to push for everything. But, next season we will have two players who have come all the way from the youth academy, now out on loan who will almost certainly start playing for the first team.
One is Charlie Patino, 19, who is now on loan at Blackpool and such a good midfielder Barcelona and others have scouted him (he's half Spanish). The other is Folarin Balogun, 21, a striker currently on loan to Reims who has scored 8 goals already this season and already played for England and the USA (he has three nationalities -UK, US and Nigerian). They will provide cover where we need it, but of course not yet.
It's a balancing act and we will have to see what the club and owners want to do in January!
