Big win today. The Nats beat the Rays 11-2. Tanner Roark pitched 6 strong innings and got a ton of run support. Anthony Rendon had 4 hits, not too shabby. Off day tomorrow and then we get the Giants for 3 games. San Diego beat Atlanta today so the Nats are in first place in the NL east.

It's good to see the Nats in first place. Look for them to keep this position for a while and possibly the rest of the season.

Thanks, Caps are being honored at todays Nats game at noon. Atlanta is back in first now after the Nats loss yesterday, Strasburg was pulled after pitching 3 innings yesterday because of a shoulder issue. MRI to follow. Hope it's not bad. We cannot afford to lose him. Nats lost 9-5. Gio Gonzalez is pitching today.

Nats won 7-5. If Atlanta loses we will be back in 1st place. Harper had his19th home run. Miller got the win. Caps were honored before the game started, Gretzky made the1st pitch. Awesome day,

The Nationals lost the rubber game to the Giants 2-0. Max Scherzer pitched 7 innings giving up a two run homer to Crawford. Nats could not get the bats going and lost. Off day Monday then on to New York for 2 games against the Yankees. Should be a good series.

Nationals got good pitching last night but the bats did not make the trip to New York. Yankees won 3-0. Tanner Roark pitched a decent game but got no support. Harper walked twice and was hit twice, Last game of the short series tonight , then its on to Toronto.

Finally, some runs. Washington beat New York 5-4 last night. Juan Soto had 2 home runs and had 4 RBI's. The last one was a 436 foot blast. Soto is the first player to have 2 home runs against the Yankees at home since 1996 when Adam Jones did it in old Yankee stadium. Day off today then a weekend series against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Bad start in Toronto for Washington, we lost 6-5 last night behind Gio Gonzalez.
Almost, but not to be. Tying run was on third base in the ninth inning but he was stranded there. Today we have Max Scherzer pitching in a 4:00 game.

Yeah, we lost again yesterday 2-0. Seems that the bats are on vacation. Scherzer got his third loss to make his record 10-3. One more shot against Toronto today at 1:00.

Well. got some runs but lost again 8-6 to Toronto. The game was tied into the 8th, then Toronto scored two runs. The Nationals could not answer in the ninth so we went down to the Jays 3 games in a row. Yankees today back in Washington. Continuation of a rain delay game, then a rain out make-up game.

The Nats won a rain delayed game from May against the Yankees 5-3, then lost the second game , also delayed from May, 4-2. Washington's bats have been too silent as a team for a long time. Harper in hitting about .220, which is awful. The Orioles come to town tonight.

Baltimore came to town last night but the Nats bats were hot and we won 9-7.
Washington's new pitcher Kelvin Herrera pitched a scoreless 8th inning needing only 6 pitches. Gio Gonzalez pitches tonight against Baltimore at 7:05.

After a 3 hour rain delay in Washington last night (my wife's garden needed the rain) the Nationals lost to the O's 3-0. Lackluster offence again, the Nat's only got 5 hits.I hope this team can start putting runs up. Orioles again this evening. Scherzer is pitching for the Washington.

Back on a winning track, Washington beat Baltimore 4-2 last night. Still not a lot of offence but enough to win, Max Scherzer was great, had 9 strikeouts but left after 7 innings with the game tied, so no win. Phillies at home now for a weekend series.

Wow, the Nats lost to the Phillies last night 12-2. Really got blasted. Tanner Roark
threw abort 110 pitches in 5 innings, that's a games worth. Nationals are starting rookie pitchers for the next 2 games with Philly, Fedde and Rodriguez. Might need a lot of bullpen help. Game at 4:05 today, weather permitting.

Nationals lost to the Phillies today 5-3.Fedde pitched a good game but needed more run support. Just could not get the runs across. Dang. One more game with the Phillies tomorrow.

At least we got the last game of the 3 game series. Washington beat Philadelphia
8-6 last night in a rain delayed game. Harper and Murphy finally found their bats.
Murphy was 3 for 4 and Harper hit 3 doubles in 5 at bats. Madson got the win in relief. On to Tampa for a 2 game set with the Devil Ray's. Gio Gonzalez pitches tonight.

Well, the Nats lost 11-0 last night and 1-0 today to the Rays. Can't buy a run.
Max only gave up 4 hits but his offense was not there. Harper missed a game tying home run by inches. Not a good 2 days in Tampa.Off day tomorrow, then on to Philly for 4 games.

Nats lost to Philly last night, 4-3. We just can't seem to get it going. Run possibilities were there but no timely hits. Fedde pitching tonight for Washington. Hope we can get a win.

We finally got the offense going last night in Philly. 17-7 with seven home runs! It's a shame we can't bank some runs for later. Another rookie Hellickson pitching for Washington today. Can we win two in a row?

Ouch, lost to Philly 4-3 in 13 innings . Long game for the players, so hot. We start a 3 game set with Boston tonight. Max Scherzer, 10-4 is pitching for Washington and Percello, 9-3 for Boston. We will see how it goes...……………….

We just cannot get runs. The Nats lost to Boston 4-3 last night in a winnable game.
Pitching was adequate but again we could not get the timely hit. Many scoring ops
but no runs when really needed. Game 2 tonight.

Happy 4th of July all! Washington is in awful shape after losing to Boston 11-4 last
night, Their record is now 42-42, terrible. They trail Atlanta by seven games now.
Last game with Boston at 11AM today.
