I like this kind of poker at the final tables, here, I feel like a fish in water, you can use bluff, intuition works better and I can make decisions faster.

It is a 'different' game for sure. I'll be honest, I never found it more mentally draining then full ring poker.

But for sure I'd say that most poker players have the least experience in HU so making it a challenge for them.

yes, it can be a bit difficult, but you have to go blind per blind, you don't have to know how to finish your opponent as fast as you can, you have to play step by step and if you don't succeed, it's still a good result :)

HU is the final stage.. very difficult to play, and if short stack, cant wait a good opportunity or great cards.. the best moment to involve the villain is felling his type of game and GL!

I would say that it is like the game go up low that you find in the amusement parks. That is why I love poker in all its variations. The best thing for you is the tables.

Heads up poker is much intensive game than regular 6-max, it demands more energy, more brain power, more luck, and higher variance, I think it is the most exciting form of poker, and it is hard be good at it.

HU stay aggressive with the button. Most of the time neither player has a hand.

Man I swear this tournament format is insanely crazy! From the upswings and downswings, the winning rates becoming losing rates. Back up to winning again. Beating your opponent down to chump change to a final all in and they miraculously come back and beat you on some Atlanta Falcons 28-3 super bowl blown lead outcome. You really really have to be strong minded and emotionally strong in this game format in poker. The variance is unpredictable moving randomly up and down like the stock/crypto market of volatility. The bad beats, the psychological mind games! This game of heads up poker is very very brutal! But I'm up to the challenge to keep working on it and I'm good with my bankroll management I'll make it through.

Once I played heads-up and was way ahead on the flop, but my opponent got four of a kind on the last two streets, I was very indignant, but 2nd place is also a good result :jd4::(:jd4:

I don't quite agree! A normal hedge with a smooth structure is the pinnacle of poker skill, but it is inferior in dispersion to spins!

Luck tends to appear more often, obvious is normal, but I think that the advantage is patience, many times that is the weak point of the rival, although at the beginning and during the duel he looks strong.:jd4::jd4::jd4::jd4:

Heads up is so exhausting! By the time I make it to final 2 I'm pretty much just thrilled to be in the money so don't care as much if I win or lose and try to enjoy it. But it's so tough!!

I see heads-up game as limp, call, bluff if you feel V is weak or fold, or get the nuts at flop, check and wait for the opponent to go all-in and at that point it's gg.

It can feel that way for sure but you have to take into account the varience that is in poker and your skill set in the game/format your in. Always be learning and plugging leaks in your game.

In fact, heads-up play is one of the most mental and strategic games in poker.
There it is pure skill and the luck factor develops very slowly.
Of course when there are stacks favorable to this, because if it is shorter the game is just a victorious flip.
I try a lot to study this part of the game, because it's something I need to improve a lot.

It is a totally different game from the full table
. I like it a lot, you can be very aggressive and varying the game is the key, it seems to me.

I think heads-up is a very difficult discipline. You need to be able to adapt very well to each opponent, and this is a very difficult task, especially in such tournaments.

The first thing to do is to find out if the opponent is capable of going to showdown with overcards without matching the board. 2-3 showdowns will show this: either he called, or shoved with ace high or third pair - the opponent is playing in a loose style. such rivals are the main source of money. You need to make a medium hand (second or top pair with a weak kicker) and try to bring it to showdown with moderate bets or calls on all streets. The goal is to take at least half of the opponent's stack. A large bank will significantly reduce the rake.
If it becomes clear that the opponent is waiting for a strong combination, then you cannot build big money with him. Better close the table. This is a justified decision, since heads-up poker is an additional discipline played in the third place.

I also find Head's up very exciting as there is a lot more aggression in the playing style, and you have to be able to call a lot more often, or just fold pre-flop, I was once heads up in a live game with around 90% of the chips and when the dealer dealt the cards, I refused to look at them until my opponent made his play as it was up to him to play first.
He pushed all-in with a Big Slick (A/K) and I immediately called without looking at my hole cards, the other player laughed when he saw my 6/2 unsuited, turned over by the dealer, but stopped laughing when I paired my 2 and beat him. He asked me why I had called with such bad hole cards and I said "any two cards can win heads up, and I never look when I have such a big lead over my opponent" I would have folded the winning hand if I had looked at it.
Some might say I was playing stupid, or just plain Crazy! But to be totally honest I would have been happy losing 10% of my chips had I lost, sometimes you have to trust in the Poker Gods and Luck!

When the fun Stops, STOP!

Yep, hard game indeed. How many tables are you able to play at the same time?
