For 5-10 minutes you do not have time to relax at least a little after 5-6 hour game session. Yeah, just tournaments have that big problem of time control. After that long session you must take atleast 1 hour break to eat and relax. So, if you play long tournaments you just have to sacrifice.

If I play long stretches, I usually binge play, then stop once I feel like I'm hitting a wall. However, if I'm playing a tourney and I bust, I like to give myself at least a 15-20 minute break before I decide to continue with more of them. I know I probably don't give myself enough rest time, but when I'm in the zone it's hard to stop. Unfortunately with tourneys I find I suffer burn out a lot quicker and I find it a lot harder to concentrate, than if I were playing cash games. I'm beginning to think for that reason, I probably should be playing more cash to take advantage of the flexibility they provide.

I think that if you pretend to play a long MTT, you have to plan it before doing so, like sitting out for some time during low blind play, or extending some minutes on each break. I guess It helps that Im used to spending a whole day in front of a PC as thats what I grew up doing. That helps to keep me focused but If you are not used to It, and get tired, try to start most of your tourneys at the same time to avoid a very long session.
