Love Freerolls

I don't know why but I love playing freerolls. There is just something about the opportunity to win cash or level up for free that's awesome. What are your thoughts?

A good way to bankroll Building and Skill Development keeping in mind that opponents often play more recklessly compared to paid tournaments.
I love freerolls and freebeers.

Freerolls are great for a few simple reasons. First, there’s no risk at all since you don’t invest any buy-in. Second, you can still win real money, even if it’s small, and slowly build a bankroll from nothing. And third, because there are so many freerolls across different poker rooms, they’re a very good way to practice, gain experience, and improve your game without pressure.

In my opinion, they are not as fun as you say. That said, that doesn't detract from them, that's why I keep playing them; I just don't give them my full attention, unlike the tournaments I pay for.

I personally don't like freerolls. They're like crazy shootouts where you get killed by a stray bullet. The only exception is Cardschat freerolls where the game is more serious and real poker is played.

Freerolls are great for building experience and confidence without risking your own money. The fields can be wild, but that’s part of the fun. Even small cashes add up over time imp.- you lose nothing but time.

Yes, the opportunity to win money without any risk is certainly alluring.

It is important though to not treat all freerolls the same. Some are very much worth it, when trying to start a new bankroll, like the CardsChat tournaments, where the fields are relatively small, the average ability, significantly higher and the prizes are worth winning. I see no point in spending 4 hours in a 3000+ field tournament to win $0.10. My time would be better spent looking for loose change in the gutter.

quite honestly i believe the algorythm changes frm free rolls to regular games, the one for freerolls encourages too much sensationalist calls... its has a surreal feel.

A bit addictive and I think my game play would benefit from playing more serious games as freerolls are quite reckless. Luckily often there is possibility to win tickets to more serious games. Most of the time freerolls don't get my full attention, but there are nights when I try to play seriously no matter what the tournament is. Anyway, as long as it is free, why not!

I totally agree with you, but I also would like to add that is awesome to just sit in a table and play it without any preocupation of loss!

I basically only play freerolls, just with a very few exceptions. And when I play those exceptions, is with the money I won by playing freerolls.

In my opnion they are not funny, as you are playing against brainless players, so bluffs and value betting generally doesn't work as desired.

I agree with the author that freerolls are great tournaments for beginners, both for testing their skills and for building up their bankroll. And sometimes, just to pass the time, it's also a great type of tournament.

I love the fact that you can play most of them from your cellphone, the free money makes it easier to play as you can widen your range, make bluffs, overall it's a great experience for beginners

Not at all, I loose more than half of the flips, even premium pocket pairs.

I better prefer buy in tournaments.
Okey, CardsChat freerolls are only ones where players are not crazy bingo lovers.
But usualy, freerolls are so crazy to win and the reason is free buy in. No money , no stress. 😎

Freerolls are usually the starting point for anyone's poker adventure. That's how I started and I still play some. However, I think that real poker is a real money game. There's a much greater thrill and the potential for much more money.

Free tournaments are usually very important for those of us starting out in the world of poker, because we gain experience and can increase our bankroll without much investment. I think free tournaments are very important in poker rooms; I've made big profits with these tournaments, and I still play them. 😁
