I like to play with JJ, but you have pay attention to the circumstances in the hand.Don't put all your chips against anyone without before read their game.

You don't want to lose your chips for QQ+, AX or straights and flush.Be aggressive, becareful with check/raise, choose what spots are good to shove, call allin or fold, prefer to play in position, aggressiveness out of position can be disastrous.

i don't like JJ, even if i play them right i always get trapped with the hand. aggressive or not. so i usually slow play them, due to a lot of bad beats with JJ.

if you even consider JJ bad, just imagine how much worse TT is, any Jx is a threat, not to mention how many flops have a face card; i've lost with TT much more pots than with JJ+

I think JJ is one of the most complicated pairs, and I say it because there are forgiveness that no matter how they play it almost always loses with it, 100 times lose more than 90, I know people that those cards do not help them at all, you have to be very focused and know how other players are played to apply a kind of strategy, I just follow my intuition and it is not easy

Pocket jacks are hard because any card above jacks on the flop when people call raises its going to be a problem.

Don't put too many chips in the pot if you see draws and overcards, fold it when opponents start to play with power.

If you have someone covered, you can play jacks aggressively preflop, but other than that, you might slow it down and get the flop. If there's a jack in it or it comes say 10,Q,K, then you might play aggressive post flop. If you have 2 jacks, it is less likely your opponent has AJ in his hand. I wouldn't be quite as aggressive with the str8 draw though.

Pocket jacks are a good enough card, I usually raise 3bb or more on this card, depending on the position I'm in. And if someone raised to me then I re-raised. Of course you need to be careful with this card, but in most cases I'm lucky and I'm winning on this card. When you make a good raise, only those who have either two overcards or a pair on their hands come in. Well, depending on which flop opens, you decide what to do next.

I actually don't like pocket js. I agree on 3x raise but if the flop comes 3 understand I'm shoving. I actually prefer limping on a small pocket pair and praying for the set. I'd take that over J's..

Jacks are tough hand to play. For me I don't usually win with them. I heard that about 50% an overcard comes on the flop. Q, K, or an A. Even QJ can have you crushed.

My guess is to play them carefully. See if it is a low flop or a J on the flop. When you have good chips it's a decent hand to play.

Personally I like drawing hands better. High ones. I even get weary with QQ sometimes nevermind the Jakes.

I would play jj not aggressive I would just raise but I have seen over cards or draws I would be careful. I have seen too many players even after the flop with Ax call if you go all in and so many times the Ax has won and jjs haven't held up. I believe you need a lot of luck as well.

JJ is a had i play based on how aggresive everyone else is playing. I never like to go all in pre flop unless I'm running low on chips and don't feel a bigger pocket pair bet already in play. I usually would raise 3 x blind then just hope for no A on the flop so i can push. I feel AK to QK is better hands pre flop although they are not made hands but i hate coin flip all ins.

88,99,1010, JJ are hard to play, because there are so many combinations that can beat your hand. You have to have a tactic how to play these, I almost never go in with all the things in order for bad odds. However, if you play a tournament with few players left you can be more aggressive.​

Most of these days people playing any pocket pair like they have the nuts. I see people calling river bets with just pocket fours.

Hooks are not the nuts but just a pair. And its just fourth best pair, so you should play it accordingly and not like you have a set or holding aces. Any queen, king or ace on the board should make you suspicious.

The pair of JJ is a dangerous hand if you are not careful ... it is very tempting to perform all-in ... in my personal case I always play with great caution and depending on what I see on the flop I make an aggressive bet or continued playing with great caution ...!

I am working on not playing specific hands but playing a range of hands. IT has really help me figure out how to play certain hands in specific spots. All I have to figure out is where my specific hand fits into my range for the spot I am in and then play accordingly. When I first started doing this, I thought I would never be able to figure it out but over the last year studying it has started to become naturally. It has really helped me post flop as well.

Hi There,

this is without doubt my bogey hand, for some reason, you can also guarantee it - i get called or re-raised by higher paint..the KQ offsuit is typical - i am happy with how i play and i have also identified nearly every scenario now where to play it, in what position and stage of the blinds in a tourney but its weird, i guess we all have hands that do not fare well for us, i certainly have more success with 88, 99 and 1010 then JJ..weird.

Preflop I want to play Jacks aggressively. It is the 4th best hand preflop, but there are a lot of flops that can make JJ tough to play. Honestly I like to take it down pre with a 3Bet or even a 4bet.
Even if you do get a call, JJ will still often be good on the flop. If your opponent has an over pair than good for them, but if they don’t... it’s going to be unlikely they have you beat. Granted, there will always be disastrous flops for your range, but that’s a given.
Moral of the story, it’s going to be a +EV spot to play JJ aggro preflop. You are going to lose some pots but in the long run, your going to make money with JJ as the aggressor.
