Tips for a play in a deep-run tournament

Hello everyone
This is my first post here,and I want some opinions on how you play tournaments when you get to the final stages.What are your ranges?Is it better to shove strong hands or build the pot?I played a freeroll recently,and my tactic was shoving any strong hand hoping someone will slip,and then I failed when my kings were called by aces.

You can't worry too much about such hands.....they will happen its just a set up.

Generally I'd say if everyone is getting very short, then you should play a little tighter than normal but only shove 10-12bbs or less.....when in position, button or CO and its folded to you, maybe you can shove A's and strong K high hands too.

If you don't kniow uch about ICM, this is something to learn as its makes a massive difference to how you play each hand.

There are many theories, tight play, looking for profitable moments, etc, but in freeroll tournaments, pure luck rules the day. With no buy-in, all players let it go, allin with no real downside. The realistic theory is too play ultimate aggression. This way, it is more fun,taking risks. In a tourney,, with everybody taking chances, why not take bigger chances? If you lose, at least you wnt down swinging.

I appreciate your answers.Yes,I am only playing freerolls at the moment and it is a unusual dynamic.I noticed some of my tendencies to call large bets on straight draws,or backdoor straight and flush draws,but I think the hardest part so far is dealing with the fact that I sometimes actually consider making all in calls with stuff like 3-2s,or 9-6s,or k-10o.Worst part is to compose myself after seeing I would have had so much chips if I called and to see I had the best hand on the river.

Welcome to our community
If you are a beginner, you should play in such a way that you can gradually improve your skills and accumulate experience. If you are a beginner, you should definitely take your time. You can and even should play differently in tournaments of different formats and structures. But if you are a beginner, you should definitely not play with junk.

In freerrol tournaments you will find all kinds of poker styles.But there is no guarantee of regular rooting, as many people play loosely.I think that a tight and aggressive game is the winner in the long run.

Try not to win the tournament in 30 min 😜...tale it step by step , first play to get ,, in the money,, and so on and try If You have a hard decision to make to find the ,,fold button ,, 🤙

take notes on players, play aggressively, bluff, make your opponents doubt the strength of your hand, and don't expect your monsters to always win. There are a lot of bad beats in online poker.

Generally speaking, you don’t want to call off all your chips on a draw, you will usually be in bad shape.
You just need to study ICM and study stack size strategies.
Ask yourself why you are considering making a call when someone is all in and you have 3-2 suited.
Learning poker is all about learning yourself and why we do what we do. Find out what the most profitable plays are, how to maximize wins while minimizing losses. It takes work but you will get there and then you can look at garbage and know what the right play is.

It depends on how the other players are playing. Ideally if you can put in min raises and see flops then this will be a low risk strategy. You can then mix it up a bit if you get a big stack and raise pre flop and win a lot of cheap blinds. More difficult if you have a couple of wild players at your table.

At the final stage, if you have a small stack, you will not be allowed to simply increase the pot with regular open raises; to increase the pot, you will have to increase the push-fold ranges
