In my opinion the first part of the tournament is more difficult. Mainly for two reasons:
1- Lots of maniacal players who don't know what they're doing there.
2- Small value pots that don't give interesting equity.

For me if it's KO the hardest part is just until I eliminate the first player then the game appears.
If it's regular for me, the hardest thing is the beginning because usually players don't respect raises because there are a lot of blinds. In the middle and late stages players are more cautious.

The hardest moment of the tournament is when the end is near.

the hardest part is the time you have to spend being patient and waiting for the right hands

Around the bubble can be very hard, you want so much to get to the money, but there are so many chips to win because everyone else wants the same.
Its very hard for me to find balance between greed and correct level of risk.

Reading through this thread I noticed that most people say that the bubble is the hardest part of the tournament and I feel the opposite way.
Seeing that only reminds me that bubble play is one of the best times to stack chips as long as you already have a dominant one.

In fact, for me the hardest part of a tournament has always been at the very end: heads-up. Nothing hurts worse than 2nd place and when you go heads up, you know your opponent is going to be tough. Bad beats sting more in heads-up and the stakes are the highest.

The hardest is the final table but in the same time the easiest. It's basically either folding or playing roulette.

For me, the most difficult thing is the final stage, since the collection bubble is broken until the FT, without a doubt I should change the strategies in that instance, but it is very difficult for me

Every tourny is difficult from beginning to end because any slack in playing gets you out of the tourny

I would say the hardest part is in the first 10 levels of the tournament. Doubling up can be tough as you can get quite the variance from all sorts of opponents at low levels. All in with 100BB's, slow playing low sets, and maniacs can set you back if you don't find specific spots to take advantage of. Having a monster hand in the first 30 minutes can have disappointing outcomes and missed opportunities can be damaging. If you are past the 10th level you can now be stuck playing nitty and more careful, making the game a balancing act of wits and control. Registering late to a tourney can also spell trouble as more luck than skill will be needed in the long term.

The truth about tournaments is that you will lose 80-90% of the time. And that can be a bitter pill to swallow. You will lose a lot of the time even if you make solid plays. That's the nature of the beast, friend, and in tournament poker it's inevitable.

Without a doubt, the hardest part is the beginning. With many players and re-entries, players choose to play poorly and with a lot of risk. That affects the gameplay of a good player.

The hardest part of the game is perhaps when you're losing you're momentum because of inefficient choices, leading to a gradual shift in irrational decisions as well. Well, in my case, it either happens during the beginning when you're still not knowing your table participants, or when you are distinctly not presenting your worth during peaks of the game (in a way you blunder more than recalling others strategies and countering them accordingly).

Winning outright. Trying to negotiate heads up at the end of a gruelling MTT. You are mentally tired at that stage and really want to get over the line.

To you , when the tournament is more difficult ?
Hi :)
For me, the most difficult stage is the stage before the prizes, when it's very easy to make a mistake and a mistake can lead to a premature end :)
