As a rule I think you cannot drop any of those three hands under ANY circumstances ...keeping in reason it’s preflop

An excellent AA KK QQ card for playing pre-flop, but at some points you need to make big raises or play aggressively all-in so that this card played well and there were fewer players in the hand because they can kill you with small cards and knock them out of the tournament, but and some moments you need to discard such cards when distribution is not in your favor!

It is really very difficult to fold these hands of much value preflop. However at least for me, it depends more on the stage of the tournament and the level of action of opponents on this street.
If there is no other way and by reading the villains think you still have the best pre-flop hand, of course you should go allin, if you are in the bubble maybe the best way is to fold in that AA, KK, QQ

I hate AA, either the other one ends up having full house or quads. Very seldom do I win with AA.

When i have kk or QQ and someone pushes all in, i call, unless the player is rock, and if i do not have information from the player, i call and pray.

Never folding the nuts AA.People play a high value range very much like AA so I am almost never folding KK. The odds of being dealt AA is like 220 to 1 image the odds of KK and AA dealt in same hand. Not folding KK.

QQ if we are over 50BB I maybe consider it a fold since I know they are live at 30%+ equity. Depending on opponent but I will maybe fold it. AK is easy fold as I have discussed previously as the most overrated hand in Hold'em. Any hand is live against AK and "Dominated" still has 25% so how dominated is it....just poker lingo.

If you have AA or KK and against you one or two opponents go to all-in ,you need to call, and in the situation with AK look at the size of your stack, and only then call or no

Today, I just busted out of a $5.00 tourney. Was playing solid poker, both of us had about ~40 big bets behind us (about the same.) I had KK in late position, villain had 22. He raises standard in mid position and I come over the top for 3x his raise. Everyone folds and he calls. Flop comes Q-10-6 with two diamonds. He checks, I bet almost the full pot (90% or so) and he calls. Next card is a 4 (no flush). He checks, I shove all in and he calls, turning over 22.

River....a 2. I bust out and he doubles up.

Should I have suspected something fishy? Will the villain have me beat in most cases? (this time he didn't, but you never know).

Gah, this frustrates me....idiot players winning.

Out of these 4 hands (KK,QQ,AK,AA) there is never a time where I'm going to lay any of them down preflop...Why would you?

AA, are almost never discarded pre-flop, but there are such cases that it is necessary and reset. KK, QQ, JJ, AK you need to look at the number of all-in, as well as the stage of the tournament

preflop agressing - way to win?

When you are a preflop agressor you also must be agressive on postflop.
But a question: on which postflop cards we must to put cont-bet and when simply check will be the way?

I don't see my self folding AA,KK,QQ because i like to play aggressive style of poker. The only situation where i might fold QQ is when there are too many players going all-in before me and their stacks cover mine.

Out of those hands, AK is the easiest fold. Unless the person shoving is short-stacked or I have them covered several times (3X or better), I'm laying down AK to an all-in bet. AK is behind all pocket pairs and I don't believe there are many people who are going to risk their tournament life with AQ or worse. Again, if it's late in the tournament and there is a strong chance the person is shoving with just high cards, then calling with AK makes sense. I don't think I'm ever folding AA pre-flop unless (1) it's the bubble (2) there is an all-in which has me covered and (3) there are some seriously short stacks which nearly guarantee that I'll be in the money. With KK/QQ, the decision is tougher because more factors come into play.

Agreed, AK is the only one I'd consider folding pre-flop if I have a good read on the player and think they have a high pocket pair.

I suppose veeeeery rarely I might fold QQ if I think they have AA or KK.

AA im calling. I've only folded AA once in my life playing poker. It ended up being a good fold. Five players went all in preflop and i was the last to act with 15 players left in a rather nice sized GTD tourney. With KK it depends on the # of players my position and if 2 rocks are in the hand I may consider. QQ i'm never married to under any circumstances and have folded it plenty of times preflop. If my stack is really nice 100+ BBs and The largest stack going in is going to hurt me to bad I may call.

It might not be the most strategic, but I won't fold if I have AA, KK or QQ pre-flop -- I'll call someone else's "all-in" to test my luck (overall, I find myself winning on these calls). Note: I'll call someone else's all-in, but not necessarily go all-in myself.

I would put myself all-in with pocket AAs. Sure, they get busted occasionally, but it's pretty rare. However, if there are 3+ players calling all-in pre-flop, I have folded before depending on my own stack size in relation to the tournament stage.

I can pay or I can give a 3bet with these hands. My lowest tencence will be to fold. If we have a good pre flop equity it is interesting to try to achieve fairness with these hands

I can't fold QQ ot JJ pre-flop unless it's allin near the bubble. As for AA or KK, I'm allin no matter the outcome. I go for it more than most, I think. I fold JJ or QQ post flop if their is an over card or a pair on board followed by a hefty bet. KK is the tough one if an A flops with a big bet following. They do seem to earn the nickname "ace magnets" for a reason.
