I'm never sure how much to raise in pre-flops so I multiplied the vilain's bet by 3. Vilain seems like a typical TAG you find in 2 NL so he didn't strike me as ''full of shit''

Preflop
A 4X 3-bet is a bit large in position, but its definitely better than your other hand, where you only went to 3X out of position with a cold caller in between. I would not go any larger than this though, because then you start to give yourself to poor a price on your light 3-bets.

Flop
I might have bet a bit larger, but a small C-bet is the right play here with most of your range including this hand, which flopped a gutshot and two overs.

Turn
Now you have a decision, if you want to turn this hand into a bluff or check back and try to realise your equity. And I like your decision to check back. The issue is, that if you put out a large bet like $0.40, which you need to do to start a bluff, you give the opponent a decent risk/reward to jam on you, which would obviously be a disaster.

River
As played an easy fold. You got to see all 5 cards for the price of a 25% pot bet, so even though you ended up losing the hand, you got exactly the result, you were trying to achieve. Sometimes we just need to make a hand, and this time you did not.

Appreciate you !

I thought he might fold to the C-Bet but sadly he pursued

When you only bet 25% pot, you should not expect people to do much folding at all. Thats the reason, why I would probably go a bit larger and perhaps get hands like TT and below to give it up already on the flop. But your small bet did make him check the turn, so that you could take a free card, and in that sense it did, what it is supposed to do.
