Hey Ryan,

I have an interesting hand that I'd like your take on.

10NL on Zoom. No info on the BTN.

I find QQ in the CO and raise 2.7BB. BTN pops it up to 8.5BB. I flat (Understand looking back this was the wrong call but for the way this hand played out...ignore that miss).

Flop A54 rainbow

V bets 7.5BB - I call.

Turn Ah

Both check.

River 8c

I check -he bets pot.

Is this more of a line that Ax takes to induce the bluff on the river - or - is this a KK, JJ or even TT type of hand that is scared of the AA?
I fold here readless on river.

Pre can be fine, I do 4bet vs most in cash here though.

It would be interesting to know your opinion regarding few of my hands please
6 max table.
the hero on the BTN makes an open reis of 3BB with :kd4::ks4:, SB call, BB call
2)Flop :2d::4c4::9d4: check, check, BTN bet 50%, SB and BB call. Turn :9c:, SB check, BB check BTN bet 50%, SB makes call, BB reise x3 ... please tell me what to do? I will say that I reached showdown🙂

I forgot to say in my experience BB played until this very Passive and his raise indicates that he has a strong hand.

6 max, kash
MP limp, Hero on SB reiz 4bb with :qs4::10s4:
Flop :qc::8d::qh: SB chack, MP bet 50% of bank BTN call
Turn :7c4: SB chack, MP bet 50% , SB reiz x3 and MP fold...
I have question? How was I supposed to play that he paid and not fold?

About winning

Hi. I want to share and ask a question. I have a very small bankroll (20$). I play like one hour/day cash game 1/2c and last 4 days happened something similar. I get in the game with 1$ and lose it, then i play with another 1$ and win 3$ so 3-2= 1$win/day. Is that consider profitable? should i play more? Or i'm not having the profit needed cause of the downswing's days.

Limp calling with a good hand from EP becoming a tread?

have you noticed many players playing a trappy kind of strategy lately? Or is it just my local casino?

I see a ton of limps for $2 until someone announced that they have a big hand by PF beating it, only to have all these people call (like 3-4) to see the flop to try and catch something to cooler to PF raiser. So they bet $2 then call $25? Lol

Thing is they start playing very aggressive post flop whether they caught a draw or not.

When I see this should just start to double my PF raise?

1st: I would fold to the turn raise vs a passive opponent and continue vs an aggressive opponent.

2nd: I would call turn, I dont mind the raise though.

in a bluffing sense is it better to reraise the flop or the turn
Depends on your opponent and the texture of the board and situation.

Sometimes best to raise river!

You could be profitable, too small of samples to know really.

Work on improving your game and knowledge and get to point where you know this well yourself.

You should get upswingpoker, they have some great introductory level content on cash games.

Hey Mr. Protential,

I have a BRM related question. I'd like to preface this by saying I have no intention of going pro (if it happens, cool) so even as a part timer, I need some help in my situation.

I live in Vegas, I can save up for a decent 1/3 bankroll but it's gonna take probably a year or so to stack up 12k. So given that my annual BR is 12k, could I effectively play 1/3 on $1200/m (I know the math works out to $14,400 a year but I'll cut back from my drinking budget for the $2400) would that have a similar risk of ruin to banking the money and playing once it's saved?

What is your opinion on 4-betting as a bluff? Lately I have been applying pressure on the players in 100NL by 4-betting with TT-JJ and AJs.

Example of how a hand goes down; MP raises to 3BB, CO calls, B reraises 10BB and I, in the SB; 4-bets to 27BB with JJ. This has been very profitable over the course of 3-4000 hands. But what do you think about this, will it be profitable in the long run or should i cut it out? I only do this against certain players, and so far it has worked out fine, but I am wondering what you think.Thank you.

Guys how many times I played nl 10 , people there is so tight that as soon as my arm is above average and they constantly fold , it is impossible to reach with hands worse . Can I do something wrong ? I play aggressively

If you are playing for fun you dont need to save up for it.

Using your purely disposable income is perfectly fine, just make sure you dont dip into your true savings or $ you actually need.

Are you bluffing TT/JJ?

I like using hands like A4s/A5s/AJs/AQo/KQs as bluffs, or 56s or 67s or 89s if deep enough. (Not all of them, I pick a few and use those.)

How do I learn to play AK? What I should think in nitty table when holding AK?

Do any backers stake people for 2nl? Or is 25nl the lowest you could expect a backer to stake someone for?

AK is a strong hand, even against tight players.

As long as your tight players haven't 4bet you pre flop, or shown lots of aggression post flop, AK is a great hand to play for strong value, as well as when you hit it on flop.

No.

Getting past 2nl on your own is seen as a reasonable way to show you have the ability and drive to play higher stakes.

So how to win when having to AA hands and set the board, you miserable interrupts kare? Well, just the entire starting bankroll flies in minimum to impossible lengths. You are faced with? Tell us how not to go on tilt after such distributions?

Running bad is a part of the game. If luck didnt exist in it to the degree that it does we wouldnt be able to make a lot of money from it!

Instead of worrying about how unlucky you are, just work on studying and playing better!

Private clubs

Hey man. Brother of mine played on some App called pokerrr 2. You needed a passcode to join but it had a lot of action and cash settlements after game was over every day.

I am hoping to find a host on here that runs something similar.

Can you point me in right direction?
