You are winning at around 20BB/100, which is an excellent result, but its still a fairly small sample. Even so you are not new to poker, and if you get this kind of results in 2NL, then dont spend another minute there and go straight to 5NL or even 10NL, if you have the bankroll for it. Cash game rake in the micros is usually somewhere around 10BB/100, but it depends on, how many hands you play, and how wild the game is.

Are GG Poker really showing people, how much they win in cash games before rake? That seems extremely dishonest to me.

Its pretty crazy, what people are willing to accept just to play on GG Poker. There are cash games on other sites, so nobody force you to play them there. Maybe volume is lower, but you cant play on 50 tables anyway, so does that really matter? ;)

Going out on a bit of a tangent here, but I only recently begun playing a little bit on GG Poker, and yesterday I had a quite funny experience. On PokerStars there was a SnG reg playing under the name Pikefinder. He mainly played Fifty/50 SnGs, and since I also played these a lot for a while, he is still to this day the player, I have far most hands with in my database. Its more than 50k. He first played from Ukraine, and then from Poland, and when PokerStars left Poland a few years ago, he obviously stopped playing.

I often wonder, what became of him, because for sure poker was his main source of income. He was a full time grinder. And now I think, I know. Because yesterday I was playing some $10 Battle Royal on GG Poker, and one of my opponents, who was playing from Ukraine, had the exact same picture of a dog on his profile, as Pikefinder used to have on PokerStars. This player had around $0.5 mio. in cashes in Battle Royal, so definitely a grinder, and I am pretty sure, its the same person, although he picked a different user name on GG Poker.

My point is, that its not like, GG Poker is some sort of hidden secret, that no strong players have discovered. If you play there, you are going to be competing will full time grinders just as much, as you do on PokerStars and other sites. So unless there is some kind of other reason to play there, then why not try out some smaller sites and keep the competition alive?

300 hands of the day result :

1784921520087

Costly river for the day EV

Profit was 2.14$ minus 0.51$ of rake so around 24% or 5.1 bb/100 on the profit or around 8.6 bb/100 for all the hands

319 hands @ NL2: $2.14 profit = 107 bb = 33.5 bb/100; after subtracting $0.51 rake: $1.63 = 81.5 bb = 25.5 bb/100

I've never looked into this as I only play a small amount of cash hands at GG with the express purpose of unlocking the wsop bonuses, but quick search..

It looks like 5% rake (capped at ~3..4bb)

1784993000099

1784993058372

@fundiver199 It looks like with GG there is no benefit in rake drop as you go up the stakes as it remains at 5%?

5% rake is pretty standard in online poker. Typically the drop at higher stakes comes from reaching the cap more often, so that it become less than 5% in the big pots.

I think GG rakes 3-bet pots preflop. So while general rake is at standard 5% this is kind of a rake trap many are not aware of.

That same page I linked has this exception listed..

1785020135986

It is naughty, GG don't really have a full 'no flop no drop' policy and this should affect our thinking on 3 betting (not as incentivised to take pots down pre with a 3 bet)

And in top of that there is also a bad beat jackpot, which is funded by an extra rake in top of the 5%. I dont know, if this apply to all stakes and game formats, but every time you sit down at a 10NL 9-man table, you are asked to confirm, that you agree to take part in this "side bet". Its probably another 1% of so, similar to what many live casinos do. This is in theory neutral EV in the long run, but it adds a lottery element and drive up variance. You are more likely to be losing, unless/until you actually get paid from that jackpot.

Not sure if you are looking for advice, so just ignore if you are not :)

Hand 1: Fold pre.
Hand 2: The only two pair combo villain has is QT. Maybe Q5, but that should raise turn for protection. So given we heavily block the only combo of two pair villain has here, then we're looking at sets and straights. So I think the call isn't that great if we're up against any kind of regular player. Against whales, call is fine.
Hand 3: Funny run out! Nothing we can do here.

i agree with hand number 1 i just play a very high VPIP in position sionce the field is hugely very soft :D
For hand number 2 i kind of disagree since i saw so many time people raising in that spot with one pair top kicker...I guess in the long run i need to call :D
