In a cash game..What would you do with 1010 preflop if 3 bet to you?

Most of the time I would just fold unless I have a gut feeling. When I started learning the game I believe I've lost more $$ with 10s preflop than any other hand. Easily beaten hand if you don't flop a set and majority of the time there will be an over card on the flop then what?? lol

Royal Flushing

I have hit a total of 12 royal flushes in live and online poker combined. The other day in a live game at the casino near me, an old man 70+ professional player for over 40 years told me he has never hit a royal flush and only seen a few his entire career. How many of you have hit a royal and how many haven't?? Very curious

It depands on the stacks, positions and the style of play of your oponent, but at least call the 3bet if it's a decent one (not something like 10x my initial raise or something)

depends on opponent...also what level im playing...in micros im probably calling if stacks are large if not 4 bet fold to 5bet/ allin...if called evaluate flop.

Need more info to answer, but I'm not calling more than 10BBs to see a flop in general with pocket pairs below Qs, so probably fold. Even if I feel like stretching up to 15 or so BBs with people to act behind me I'm hesitant to call as I don't want to face a 4 bet, maybe an all-in.

It depends from many factors. Mostly positions, who 3bets you etc. Especially on microstakes its important. On higher limits, even like nl10+ (still micro but some things can be more serious) you have to be more focused to defend your open range correctly. It means that if you open some portion of combinations from particular positions you should be able to defend 50-55% from it and mostly TT is there. You play your range, not a particular cards. I know it's more gto things but even on limits like nl10, nl25 to be a successfull player you have to know some things like defending 50% of your open range and have a gameplan what to do on many boards in particular situations.

You have given good info with your question; more makes it easier to answer. Consider the following in future questions:

(1) Game type (ty for cash game info)
(2) Hand (ty for pre-flop info)
(3) Cards (ty for TT hole cards info)
(4) Position (early, mid or late)
(5) Stack (short or deep)
(6) How many players in the hand, and at the table
(7) Pot size as well as bet types (ty for 3 bet info)
(8) How your opponents play, if this applies only.

Anyhow, my answer: (short of more data!!!)

Best approach if 3 bet to you pre-flop in a cash game is fold. TT is not a strong hand to start with in a cash game, and more importantly --- a lot stronger hands can present against you at showdown!!! I know that you are thinking about trips at the flop, but please do not chase trips at 3 bet preflop. Do not even think about it! That is your own hard-earned money. Think about that instead!!!

Any other position I am at least calling and might 4bet if I'm on the btn.

I do believe if cash game and small amount to see flop ok but if alot and in tourneys the same fold.. the odds of someone else having pp when u do is good especially online poker I notice it happens more than not esp. on global poker bad beat after bad beat gl

Whatever the Board shows, I will try to get information from the person. (Live)
And stay aggressive at the Turn.
