"Good morning, everyone. I played this 6-card Omaha hand and I'm not sure if I made the right move. To be honest, I haven't studied 6-card PLO at all; I just play for fun."

If you are playing for fun then all you need to know is to draw to the nuts. It was possible for you to make 3 different nut hands- 2 nut flush- straight flush was possible-nut J high straight and nut wheel this is an easy call in that spot.

You want to avoid drawing to second best made hands in 6 card-

🤔🤓

You play Hold'em for fun too.
...... Like me 🙂

eetenor is right about only wanting the real nut draws here. People underrate how much thinner those play in 6-card compared to regular PLO. More combos means your second-nut flush gets outkicked a lot, and wraps get counterfeited more often. A bare nut-flush draw without a pair or redraw is not the lock it looks like. At the micros I play, I fold this one more than I call it.

Unless you have deep implied odds or a massive draw on that board texture, taking the clean fold saves your stack for better spots.

I prefer traditional PLO (4 cards) but in this situation i push all in - too many outs to fold this hand

@thwenth1983 In 6-card PLO I would call here, and I think you made the right move.

In 6-card Omaha equities run so much closer than Hold'em. Even when you are behind, you usually have a lot of outs, wraps, flush draws, and full house redraws. So folding a decent draw here would be too tight for me.

The biggest mistake in 6-card PLO for me is playing it like Hold'em and folding too much because you are afraid of the nuts. In this game you will often be behind on the flop but still have 40%+ equity to win.

Of course it depends on stack size and pot odds, but if you are getting a decent price and you have a wrap + flush draw or a strong combo draw, it's a call almost every time.

I also just play 6-card for fun, I haven't studied it much either. But that's what I learned, don't overfold draws in this game.

What did you have in this hand, and what was the final board?
