This gotta be one of the craziest gambling stories I’ve heard.

Archie Karas came to Vegas in 1992 with only $50. Just $50 lol. Somehow he kept winning and over the next few years got up to around $40 million playing pool, poker and dice.

Then everything just went the other way. By 1995, all that money was gone.

what crazy is how he got there in the first place. dude crushed pool high rollers and literally beat the best poker players in the world like stu ungar and chip reese. problem was as soon as he shifted to craps and baccarat, the house edge caught up to him fast. skill can make you rich but casino games always take it back.

that’s a crazy run for sure. beating guys like Stu Ungar and Chip Reese shows there was real skill there, but the craps and baccarat part got brutal
