Honestly, recognizing that you were getting addicted and choosing to stop was probably a bigger win than any profit you made. A lot of people only realize there's a problem after they've already lost money and control.

Being profitable is great, but if a game starts taking up too much mental space or makes it hard to walk away, stepping back is a smart decision. Self-control is one of the most valuable skills in any form of gambling.
