What if casinos started using AI to predict and exploit player weaknesses at blackjack—would that kill the thrill or make it even more addictive?

Honestly, this one makes me uneasy. I’ve always been kind of scared of blackjack and casino games—too many gamblers in my family—so the idea of AI predicting and exploiting weaknesses hits close to home. Aren’t there regulations to stop casinos from pushing players too far? Where’s the line between giving the house an advantage and straight-up manipulating people?

And here’s the other side—would players even want that? Would AI make the game more addictive and exciting, or would it kill the fun once people realized they were basically playing against a machine that knows how to break them? If AI can already be used to spot card counters, what’s really stopping it from being turned against regular players too?

So would this be the future of fun—or the end of fair play?

I think I need a hug lol ♥️♥️

I think that would be the end of the casino.... if players never win what's the incentive to play👎

There are strict rules for the bank on how to play. There is nothing to exploit a regular player.
The AI can only help finding card counters (which is not allowed).

AI has been part of casino Apps and platforms for years — poker and blackjack included. It’s odd to hear people say manipulation started with the current AI boom; the software behind these games has used algorithmic systems since day one.

You're talking about online casinos here (only). I don't know if she was including live ones too or not. In which case, what she's saying would only be possible if they introduce robots dealers. And if they do, I'm not sure people are stupid enough to play at tables with Humanoids dealing.

They have tested how well dealerless tables do vs tables with dealers, and they tables with people dealing are greatly preferred.

I think they will stick with dealers for a while accept for in jurisdictions that dont allow physical cards, and things like charities events that don't want to worry about hiring a dealer.

But I think the casinos are using AI to exploit players already. They use AI in player tracking and marketing, they use AI in game designs, and they use AI to help identify problem gamblers. Its debatable on whether they identify problem gamblers to help or hurt them.

If casinos used AI to read and exploit player weaknesses in blackjack, the game would likely become more addictive but less genuinely thrilling—trading fair play and excitement for manipulation and compulsion.

definitely more addictive. if they start using algorithms to adjust bonus offers or table limits right when you're tilted or about to walk, people are gonna end up staying way longer than they planned. basically sports betting apps already do this.

I think we're going to see this in the near future. And I think it's going to make the game much more difficult. The prospects for gambling in terms of AI involvement are not very good for us.

Some advanced AI tools can track patterns during play—especially in skill-based games—to provide instant recommendations. For example, in poker, an AI assistant can track betting patterns and identify potential bluffs.Artificial intelligence is like a super-smart assistant that never sleeps, constantly crunching numbers, and spotting trends the human eye might miss. It's changing every aspect of casino operations: from predicting player behavior to optimizing game layouts on the casino floor.

Now you should have a better understanding of how machine learning is used to support real-life decision-making. Situations where players' hands are worth 12 to 16 points (in this case, the probability of busting with the next card is highest) and the dealer shows a high card are especially dangerous.

I think this would harm the casino itself first of all. Casino games are designed in such a way that the casino always has an advantage. If the casino also starts using AI, then this will be another significant advantage in favor of the casino. As a result, casinos will start to lose people's trust, that is, they will start to lose customers.

I don't think AI can influence someone's luck.

For experienced and skilled players, I think AI cannot pose any threat, as in blackjack the outcome will still be decided to some extent by your luck. I don't think AI can influence it in any way :)

I think it would make the game less interesting. It must be difficult to play blackjack when you have an AI as your opponent.

we are talking about blackjack ! the rules the dealer follows are set ( as others have noted ) so AI is meaningless . if you are suggesting a casino , real or online , is manipulating the shuffle and deal that's an entirely different issue . that kind of cheating may well occur in house games or underground clubs .

I don't think there will be many people willing to play knowingly that the casino is using AI. I think it will cause more negative reactions than positive ones.
