Bugsy Siegel is arguably one of the most prominent personalities from the history of Vegas.

He was one of the key figures in the creation of the Flamingo as a famous casino, although at one point, the costs skyrocketed, and the project was in danger of being canceled. In 1947, Siegel was shot and killed in Beverly Hills.

Meanwhile, the Flamingo survived and eventually became one of the most renowned establishments in Las Vegas.

Have you ever heard the complete story about Bugsy Siegel?1000054925

I’ve never been to Las Vegas, but it seems to me that the casinos we see in photos from the 70s and 80s have a certain special charm—one that likely doesn't exist anymore. Modern casinos are completely different.

for sure, those old Vegas casinos had a totally different vibe. Modern ones feel way more polished, but kinda less memorable.

Do gangsters still run Vegas? I think that hollywood has made me love Old School vegas and Gangsters 😛 Darn you Hollywood!

😂 Hollywood definitely knows how to make the old Vegas gangster era look way cooler than it probably was.

I have a book about Benny Binnion's life where "Bugsy" is mentioned many times.
One doesn't really need to know the complete story of a mobster. It seems that they all have the same one (Almost).
From a little Brooklyn Jewish kid to a prominent mobster (NY, California, Vegas) to getting shot at age 41.

That’s interesting, I didn’t know Bugsy came up in Benny Binion’s story too. Those old Vegas mob stories are pretty wild.

😂 guess the suits just replaced the guns and tommy guns. Different era, same old Vegas drama.

I hadn't heard of Bugsy Siegel, but I’ve heard and read quite a bit about the Flamingo. The casino is famous for its unique zoo, home to real pink flamingos, pelicans, and other exotic birds.

I didn’t know the Flamingo had all those birds either 😂 kinda funny that the casino became famous for that too.
