When I first started learning about casino games, I realized there are a lot of small things that are easy to overlook. You don't need to know everything at once, but understanding the basics can make a big difference.

Things like knowing the rules of the game, understanding the house edge, setting a budget before you start, and knowing when to walk away are just as important as choosing which game to play.

I think the biggest mistake beginners make is focusing only on winning and forgetting that casino games are designed with a house advantage.

For the experienced players here, what is the one basic casino lesson you wish you had learned when you first started?

Probably the biggest lesson is understanding variance. I used to focus too much on the RTP and forget that short-term results can be all over the place. Knowing the volatility of a game and managing your bankroll accordingly makes a huge difference.

The casino always wins! That's my advice. You can go have fun playing some chips, but at the end of the day the casino always wins

The amount of house edge is the most important thing to know.

Like most beginners, I focused only on winning. Money was the main reason for the game and the main motivation. And this only led to losses. When I realized that my business was not giving the results I expected, I made a long break, for almost 10 years, after which I returned to the game, but as entertainment and not as an investment project.
