I am binge-watching Everwood on netflix.com. In Season 2, Episode 10, "Unhappy Holidays," Dr. Abbott, portrayed by Tom Amandes, loses $7,000 in just three hours. He claims he was almost hypnotized while gambling at a reservation casino. According to him, the flashing lights, constant noise, and the steady stream of drinks—one every five minutes—contributed to his loss.

What movies or TV shows have you watched that portray life in a casino or include casino-related scenes, particularly those that discuss the effects of gambling or the experiences people have while gambling? 🎰🎬

A few years ago I watched the movie "Molly's Game".
After that I actually didn't watch any more movies because unfortunately I don't have the time for it.

The last few TV series I can recommend:
The Wire
Black Books
Black Mirror
Silicon Valley
But we don't have anything about poker 🙂

I have never gone to a land based casino , but I have heard such stories . They must have some truth in them . casinos use tricks to lure new players and make them [hen play as much as possible . Th| more they play the better for casino to win .

i think the all time best movie about many forms of wagering is the fantastic 1974 comedy /drama " California Split "starring eliot gould and george segal . "robert altman's character driven , atmosperic style captures the manic highs and crushing lows of gambling without glamorizing it ".

I only know about the series "Las Vegas", which has 5 seasons, and another one, the mini-series "Tilt". I plan to watch them, they are on my list of series, maybe in the summer I will find time for them.

I haven’t watched Everwood, but that casino scene sounds interesting. The flashing lights, noise and constant drinks really show how the environment can affect someone’s gambling without them noticing.
