Why chasing profit leads to ruin, and at the same time accepting losses brings wins.
One player comes to the casino to make a profit and ends up with losses.
Another player comes to the casino. Ready to just spend money and ready to lose, but for some reason, he finishes the game in profit.
In fact, this happens more often than we might think.
Obviously, expecting a profit in gambling is the fastest way to significant losses. But when you are really ready to lose, you actually dominate and control the game, rather than the game controlling you.
What do you think about this?
Is it possible to play "for profit" but with a cool head, or is it all just a myth, a mirage?

I think accepting losses helps you stick to your limits, but it doesn’t make you more likely to win. Expecting profit can mess with your decisions.

Success stories always attract attention and spark interest. The brain is wired that way, just like yours. As humans, we all intuitively believe that our chances of winning are higher than they actually are. Most casinos and bookmakers strive to reinforce this misconception in every way possible.Understanding expected value helps you make more informed decisions and manage risk.

I absolutely think yes, it would be like a musician or a baseball player stepping up to a gig or to bat, Part of the training. You have to be relaxed to play your best <3 you have to be in the "zone"

This paradox leads to losses in most cases. Not everyone realizes the essence and significance of this phenomenon.

That’s because the player who’s having that mindset of accepting a loss also has that mindset of returning to his own house after a poor session!
While players who possess the mindset of chasing profit by staying longer in the casino house get humbled more than often !

I think it’s more about luck than mindset. Being ready to lose helps you stay calm and avoid chasing losses, but it doesn’t change the odds. Playing for profit sounds good, but in the long run, the house usually wins.

I think expectations can destroy us. The greater the expectation, the more it hurts when we lose.

it helps to walk away from the poker table when you are losing and not playing well . it surely can keep losses to a minimum in the casino also . the same applies to betting on sports ,or horse racing .

Yes, such unfounded expectations lead to mistakes and losses. If a player focuses solely on money, the outcome will most likely be poor for them.

I think accepting losses helps you stay calm and avoid chasing profits.
However, being prepared to lose doesn’t guarantee a win.
The key is to set limits and treat gambling as entertainment, not income.

This is your empirical view or do you have something to back this up?
Good question 😂 I think it’s more about behavior than guaranteed results. Accepting losses helps you walk away instead of chasing, but it doesn’t change the odds.
