Gambling - winning/losing

Was it worth starting?
In my case, I ‘lost’ (I call it spent) hundreds of times more than I won. I spent a lot of money over many years, but I can definitely say that it was worth starting, because for me, gambling is entertainment that brings joy to my life, relieves negativity, and allows me to easily distract myself.

Its difficult to say in the very end. In some ways it brings a lot alof enjoyment but in some other cases you loose a lot of time with gambling.

Was it worth starting what? If you're talking about slots, then definitely not, but if you're talking about poker, then thousands of players are making good money. Poker isn't entertainment, it's a game of skill.

I would say yes. If I hadn't started playing 20 years ago, I would start now, knowing everything I know at the moment. It's just that with the experience I've gained, I would lose much less

Definitely yes in my case. But I'm not insinuating that I've made millions or even thousands.
1st of all, I only play poker and some blackjack occasionally. Most of my winnings came from poker and most losses from Blackjack.
Overall, I cannot consider myself a winning player nor a losing one. Through the years I've been playing, I think I'm in the plus, just better than even in poker, but cannot say the same about Blackjack though playing it was mostly for fun.

I said yes, it was worth starting because poker had certainly so many positive impacts on my life and I would do it again if I had to start from zero.

I think for a lot of people its their entertainment, so for them its like going to a movie or going out for drinks.

So they might find it enjoyable despite losing money.

Almost nobody wins money playing casion games over the long term.

I think a lot of the youtube "gamblers" make their money from youtube not from gambling. So for them its still worth it even though they lose at the casino.

Honestly, looking at it as an entertainment expense is the only healthy way to play. If you're spending money you can actually afford to lose, it’s really no different than dropping cash on a concert ticket or an expensive night out at the bars. You’re just paying for the rush.

If I hadn't started, I would probably have become an alcoholic or a drug addict long ago. When I'm bored, all sorts of stupid thoughts come to my mind. Gambling helps me to distract myself and have fun better than anything else.

In my case I had a horrible experience, it's like kicking a drunk in the face, and the drunk one is one, unpleasant horrible poker is a hostile world, these people don't know the stone of love, unpleasant people who only enter tournaments to hurt, who pays an all-in with 2.7 against AA? Those situations where 1 out of 10 wins a hand, I have been left with that little taste in my mouth like mieeeer.

Yes - in my case too, gambling (mostly poker and sports betting) is entertainment and/or a hobby that I can make some extra money from, but also I don't mind losing some (small) amounts* I have decent bankroll management... I'm still under 40 yo and I have quite a few friends that still play games for example and they spend tons of time and money without a chance to earn back anything - both short term or in the future... I never judge their choices and I'm well aware that we are different people - we all need some hobbies to forget about IRL stuff - while some people in my life don't have a good opinion about gambling in general (especially the Casino part of it* for example the slots are kinda ruining the life of many young people in my area), this makes for some awkward conversations sometimes - I still strongly believe my choice was a good one and it was worth it to start playing poker for real money 15+ years ago and place some bets on different sports I follow around the same time * I still consider myself a (serious) recreational gambler that likes studying/grinding to constantly improve my chances of making profit

gambling is a zero sum game . i spend too much time on the computer playing poker for meaningless amounts . my guess is i'd have a more rewarding life if i was out hiking/exploring in the woods or mountains !

Winning the past three years, not much, but consistently. Don't ask me about the rest of my life!

Absolutely worth starting, both poker and slots. Love the thrill of the slots and poker has been a great journey especially after finding Cardschat and my new online friends.

Poker has made me good money. If I hadn't started gambling, I probably would never have gotten interested in poker. So my answer is yes, it was worth starting.

For me yes,its not the money its the time I invest
