I’ve been thinking about jackpot slots and the many theories players have about them.

Some people swear there are “signs” that a slot is about to pay out — like long dry spells, certain patterns, or even how “hot” or “cold” a machine feels. Others believe it’s 100% random and nothing can predict a jackpot.

Then there’s the bet size question:
  • Do you really need to bet max to have a shot at the big jackpots?
  • Or does bet size only influence the amount you win, not whether you hit it at all?
From what I understand, most modern slots and progressives are random number generator (RNG) based, so no pattern or superstition should affect the outcome. But it’s interesting how many players still feel there are “signs.”
  • Do you think there are any real signs of a jackpot coming?
  • Have you (or someone you know) ever hit one after noticing something unusual?
  • What’s your take on bet size — worth going max, or just play your normal stake?

I think yes, there are signs that indicate that a machine is about to cough out some money, not necessarily the jackpot, but I can be wrong. Some pros might know when the big hit is coming.

No, I haven't, nor do I know anyone who did, but that's probably because I don't approach, play or hang out with people who do. However, the lady in the video (bellow) could clarify many things for you. Whether in this video or another, I picked this one randomly.

As to the bet size, I'm almost sure you can only hit the Jackpot if you're betting the max.

I have never won the jackpot. And I don't know anyone who has won any significant amounts of money. I don't believe in all kinds of signals, as far as I'm concerned, it's all nonsense. You can win or lose, and it's all random. As for the size of the bet, I usually play with the minimum bets because my financial resources are quite limited.

There are no signs, but the higher that Jackpot gets the better your odds.

While you dont win more often, win you win the big one you win more for the same size bet.

There are players that are very scientific about it and wait until the jackpot hits a certain level before they will play.

Nah, anyone who says they can read "signs" on a modern slot is coping hard. It’s 100% random. My uncle swears he can tell when a machine is "due" but he's also down overall so that tells you everything you need to know lmao. On the bet size question, a lot of the newer games let you hit the jackpot on any bet, but your actual odds of triggering the bonus scale up if you bet higher. I usually just stick to my normal stake though, max betting burns through a bankroll way too fast if you hit a bad run.

In my opinion there are no signs and I wonder why the people who tell you that there are actually signs are not already millionaires.

I choose a bet that is psychologically comfortable for me, as I prefer to play it safe and don't spend more than $20-30 on slots. Usually my bet is $1-2, depending on the game.

If someone tells you that they know the signs, that they see them and understand them, then most likely they are an addicted player who just wants to get money from you. Stay away from players who see such signs.

Slots are 100% random, and anyone that says different is just kidding themselves.

It's quite strange that people can believe in such nonsense as some kind of signals. I think they are actually trying to subconsciously justify their irresistible desire to spend money on gambling.

They know what the sign is, it's just that the device doesn't show it😁😁

In many situations, timing and luck play a much bigger role than people realize.... :coffee:

I admit that intuition can influence the actions and decisions of a player and his potential winnings. It is quite possible that someone can choose a game intuitively and get some big win or even a jackpot because of it. But I don't think there can be any obvious typical signs.

I think any signs or signals are fiction. I have never observed anything like that. Yes, sometimes intuition helped me choose a game successfully, but it was just an intuitive choice.

I have seen the signs several times that said EXIT after losing all the money
