Imagine two players sitting at the same table.

One wins three times in a row and thinks, “I’m on fire!” 🔥

The other loses three times and thinks, “Why am I always unlucky?” 😅

Here’s the interesting part: both may be experiencing completely normal randomness.

We tend to remember our bad luck more strongly than someone else’s lucky moments. That’s part of what makes the Luck Paradox so interesting.

So, honestly...

Do you think you’re usually luckier than average, unluckier than average, or somewhere in the middle? 👀

I don't think about any of those 3. What I think is what you said yourself in your post:

Fair point, but I’d still argue that how we interpret that randomness matters. Two players can experience the same variance, but one may see it as bad luck while the other sees it as part of the game. Maybe that’s where the paradox really starts. What do you think?

I think the way the 2nd player sees it. Randomness is built into every game of chance. It's whether we have the guts for it or we don't.

What I think? I think that @najisami is far luckier than me. Can you imagine a time when your nemesis always hits his 1- or 2-outer even if your ahead pre-flop.

In casino context, let's say blackjack, he'll probably have me beat 20:1 at any given time.

Come on Regie!!!!!
You're forgetting that we tend to remember the beats and not the wins. Didn't you "kill" me yesterday? And knocked me out?

Haha, that’s a good point. We definitely remember the bad beats more than our own wins. Maybe our memory is part of the luck paradox too, right?
