An illusion is always an illusion. Those who follow illusions usually end up badly. Ignore illusions, you will have better results :)
Illusions are for those that have no clue as to the randomness of slot machines, for the slot machine owners those people are the profit.

This so-called "psychological phenomenon" can only affect emotional players who find it difficult to control themselves. Those for whom discipline comes first do not feel any impact from this "psychological phenomenon", because for such players this phenomenon does not actually exist.

I have no idea about that near miss phenomenon as i try to see everything objectively. So things like this do not affect me really.

I have long since given up on illusions. They are simply a thing of the past. They were, I have seen this effect in my own experience. But years of playing, experience, my skills and discipline, all this has allowed me to completely get rid of any illusions or vain hopes.

I still play, but only for fun. Near‑misses don’t fool me anymore — I see them, but they don’t affect me at all.

No, I've never fallen foul of this, as I have a cold, cynical view of such things.

As soon as I have an emotional reaction to virtually anything, I question it. It's like a mental disorder that helps you in specific ways, and punishes you in others.

Yes, it is a constant phenomenon in these games, but if you follow some basic rules for these games, then you will not fall in those traps!
