Play at home or go to a casino?

If I won a $500 tournament ticket that I can use both online and live - I will always go for the live experience, especially if it's to a local/nearby Casino... tbh, as a recreational Casino player, my mentality is to have fun and forget about IRL stuff for a few hours* I don't care that much which gives higher chances to win (a few friends that are regulars/serious Casino players also believe there's a better chance to make profit live)... as I'm not that focused on results, while also not playing often - I would definitely jump to the occasion of continuing my session (if the $500 is won and can be used at the Casino we are* IMO it would also make sense to use the free stuff at the same location), while hoping for some good run to make some 💵 💵 💵

PS. Great topic as usual Sami 👍😎 and I wish everyone GLGL & HF 💲💰💸

Thank you for the answer, Billy.
And I wouldn't expect a different choice from you. Live poker is a lot of fun, especially with a free buy-in😜😂.
Best of luck to you bro.

I'd definitely choose to play from home. 🏠 I feel like I can focus much better online without worrying about hiding my emotions or giving away any tells through my facial expressions. At a live table, even a small reaction can reveal something about your hand, so I'd rather keep my full attention on the game itself. ♠️

I think the biggest point to analyze is the field... so it depends a lot on what platform the tournaments are on and what options there are and what options you have live and clearly the field of those tournaments.

I will definitely play live to exclude any kind of cheating which can possibly happen online, and another thing is that you can stay focused playing live compared to playing online when you constantly get distracted.

Did you read the OP?
You are already at a casino.
At $500, players aren't easy, but live poker lets you read physical tells. Staring down your opponent is way better than clicking a mouse!

Well, the other players certainly give away some information one way or another, and you can take advantage of that.

When you play an MTT, online or live, there will be a field to which you'll need to adapt anyway. The difference is what you're comfortable with.

Not sure what kind of distractions you're referring to when you're in the comfort of your home, but I also prefer live play, distraction or not.

That's true! 😄 Reading other players can definitely give you an advantage, but I think it takes a lot of experience to do it well. I'd still prefer playing online, where I can focus more on the cards and the decisions. ♠️

That's precisely one very important difference between live and online.
I feel that online I'm forced to rely more on cards. If I don't get dealt decent or playable cards, I have to fold, especially in early and mid-positions. In live games, it's easier to mix in some speculative hands because you can "see" people and their reactions.
