Problem gambling: how to detect and control it?

Occupational therapy can help a gambling addict overcome their addiction. Physical labor allows for concrete results, giving the patient a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. Collaborative work is practiced, which helps improve or restore communication skills.

A big sign is not being able to follow time and money limits, continuing to play beyond what was planned. Self-exclusion is great for controlling it and so is seeking help from accredited gambling addiction programs.

I think its a problem if you spend more than your budget or if it disrupts other important things in your life like work, relationships, sleep, or exercise.

If they have a problem they should get help National Problem Gambling Helpline: Call or text 1-800-MY-RESET (or 1-800-522-4700) for 24/7, free, and confidential support, text, or chat.

Casino gambling problems have taken down quite a few poker players.

Olá amigos, quais vocês acham que são os primeiros sinais de vício em jogos de azar? E o que pode ser feito para controlar o vício?
As the name says, “GAMBLING”, don't play. Never. Play poker, which is a sport of the Mind

The moment you should think about what are you doing is when you gamble more than you can afford.
When you need to take out loans to pay bills because you lost the money to pay them at a casino, it means you already have a serious gambling problem.

I think problem gambling can be detected when someone spends more money or time than planned, chases losses, or starts hiding their gambling habits.
The best way to control it is to set clear limits, take regular breaks, and never gamble with money needed for daily expenses.
If gambling becomes difficult to manage, talking to someone you trust or seeking professional help is always a good idea.

I think the number one sign is the loss of one's entire salary. I believe this is a signal that warrants serious attention.

There are many different ways to detect problem gamblers. One is for example when they use money they should not use to play.

Another one is when you rent out your orifices to fund your casino recreation time.

I think using money meant for bills is a major warning sign. Once gambling starts affecting basic needs, it’s gone too far.

Yeah im sure there are some here who can offer some expertise on that but not going to tag anyone as people are so sensitive these days 😅 U know, the usual suspects.

Hello friends, what do you think are the first signs of gambling? And what could be done to control gambling?
If a player spends money they had not previously planned to spend, it means they are losing control. Losing control is a bad thing. In such a case, the player should stop, take a long break, and re-evaluate their attitude toward the game.

When someone becomes addicted, there are visible signs. It’s not just that gaming becomes a daily necessity, but that the person becomes pathologically dependent on getting their “fix,” just like with drugs. Sleep deprivation, mental health issues, and—later on—financial problems are all telltale signs, which is why it’s important for people to recognize these signs in themselves before it’s too late.
