No - I've never borrowed money for gambling, actually I'm against borrowing money in general... still, as it's about gambling - I've been a recreational gambler for 10+ years (mostly poker and sports betting, but also a bit of different casino games * pretty much only at local casino as I do it for the live experience, I'm aware that it's tough to make a profit without putting a lot of work/research/time into it...), so over the years, I've seen people borrowing money from each other and in many cases ruining relationships because of it - I've always worked on bankroll management for both IRL stuff and gambling to avoid this kind of situations... I also have the opinion that if you can't afford to lose some money - you shouldn't gamble, no matter how much fate you have in your abilities to beat the games* even for poker, where skill is very important, the 'luck' factor especially short term can 'eat' your money and leave you broke, that's why bankroll management is so important...
I have several friends who have borrowed money from me on several occasions to gamble. I think it's stupid, but everyone decides for themselves how to spend their money, even the money they borrow. I've never done it myself.
I borrowed money a few times when I lost what I had with me during the evening. But I didn't borrow much and I clearly understood that I would be able to return the money the next day.
I don’t think borrowing money to gamble is ever a good idea.
If you can’t afford to lose it, it shouldn’t be in the gambling bankroll.
Better to take a break than turn a bad session into a bigger financial problem.
I’ve never borrowed money to gamble. If I want to play, I only use money that I can afford to lose and consider it entertainment money. If I lose it, I simply accept the loss and move on..... ☕
Yes, I borrowed, often and a lot. I lost and then could not repay the debt. Because of this, there were a lot of problems and troubles. But over time, I learned to control my emotions and now I never spend more than I had planned.
Nothing is worse than gambling with borrowed money. Once you start chasing losses with money you don’t have, things can spiral out of control very quickly. Always gamble only with money you can afford to lose.
I borrowed and lost. It seems to me that psychologically you become much more vulnerable when you borrow money to play. It is a bad idea and it is better to abandon such financial manipulations altogether.
