Should dealers explain the rules?

When at a casino or card room, should dealers explain the rules of the game?
Example, Player 1 bets 1000, player 2 raises all in for 1800, player 3 asks dealer "if i call the 1800 can player 1 re-raise?" Should the dealer answer or just state the rule and let the player 3 interpret the rule?

I don't know how these thing go in real casinos but my opinion is: never.
If dealers would start to advise players, then someone might try to trick them to give obscure answers. Then if one would lose money because of it there could be a lawsuit claiming that they were ill advised.

a Dealer has to call for action, bet or fold or set the timeclock, nothing moore. The Floorman has to explain, when something is wrong at the table.

It might be nice in specific situations, but I doubt that it's in their job description.

The dealer may provide some clarifications regarding the technical rules of the game or regarding the betting structure. However, they should not give advice or interpret the game for the player.

they are trained to do so i believe but idk every casino and their rules its adv if player doesnt know

I would say that the most polite and easy thing is to simply answer the question politely, I don't see the need to ignore it because of your doubt and cause an uncomfortable moment

They should, otherwise you would be able to break the rules and he would need to accept it. Anyway, he should have the knowledge to know when the player wants to know if they can do something or if the player just want a hint about how to exploit something in the game.

Nope, that’s not their jobs. Maybe be sympathetic to new players however. One can feel quite intimidated if one has little live experience on he baize in live in person tournaments.

I think stating the rule is self-explanatory and should be sufficient; dealers should never give advice.

I think the dealer can announce the rules or answer questions about these rules, but the dealer is definitely not authorized to help the client make a decision.

The dealer can only warn someone if the amount they bet is invalid, for example, if big blind is $10 and someone tries to raise to $15, but nothing beyond that. Dealers should never teach rules to someone.

What is the difference? If the dealer states the rule, isn't he answering the player's question?

The dealer isn't supposed to explain the rules or teach players how to play. But if there are questions about the game itself, I think the dealer should answer them.

I think the dealer should control that the rules are not broken, but I don't think he should explain anything to the players. Of course it all depends on the situation, but the dealer shouldn't be a coach.

I don't think the dealer is obligated to explain anything to the players. He should control the game process, monitor the players' compliance with the rules. But he probably shouldn't explain how to play.

I think dealers should explain the basic rules if someone is clearly new to the game.
It makes the table more comfortable and avoids unnecessary mistakes or confusion.
But once the game starts, the dealer should focus on running it fairly and smoothly.
