wonder if any of you have ever lost a large sum of money at a casino, or felt that you needed to stop gambling? I ask because—and I’m not ashamed to admit it—I was trapped in the world of gambling for a long time and had a betting problem.
I’ve stopped playing now, and I feel cleansed.

I think we've all been there. I mean we all have decided "not to do it again" at certain times, but after a while, we end up forgetting decisions and promises.
The difference though, is how far deep we were in the addiction.

I did not calculate all my losses when I started to play; I just remember that at the start of my career in gambling I lost my entire bankroll within a few minutes. It was not a significant amount, but back in the day it was a lot for me, around $ 150$. glad I didn't have more money at that time.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I think everyone has a different relationship with gambling, and it's important to understand your own limits. It's interesting to hear how your perspective has changed over time. What helped you realize that things had gone too far?

'Twas not a large sum of money that lost at a casino nor a gambling problem, just didn't feel the "fun" compared with poker so just didn't "do it again" & only go straight to the poker table.

Glad you managed to stop and feel better now. Admitting gambling became a problem takes courage, and walking away isn't easy.

Gambling is driven by the thrill of winning big, and when losing, by the desire to quickly win back. But the main motivator is a profound, total absorption in the game itself, the hope of luck and chance. At the same time, the player feels as if they can control the situation at any moment, outplaying the machine or the dealer. As a rule, gamblers are passionate, stubborn, and far from stupid, because to lose, you first have to win.I am not a gambling person.

Gambling is such a big trap because once you’ve won and experienced that good feeling, you would like to go back (at any cost, so to speak), since if you’ve experienced it once, why couldn’t it happen again and again? This is where you have to navigate carefully. By the way, I think it’s a good sign when someone admits that they were addicted to gambling to some extent and was able to break the habit. So he already has some experience and knows the limits—how far he can go (whether he actually stops there is another matter).

I’ve lost money a great many times. But I’ve learned to take a philosophical view of it. That’s life. You have to pay for entertainment. Gambling is entertainments.
