I read these tips for a newbie casino gambler somewhere:

"-> Only take money you don't need.
->Consider any money you take to gamble with as already lost.
->If you walk away with any money, you're automatically a winner."

Do you agree?
I think the statement “only take the money you don't need” suggests betting purely for fun, but even so, people who don't have money to spare continue to take risks, and this cycle is well known... more bets and more debt.
The fun lies in having money “to spare” to risk on bets and, eventually, make some profit. But if that doesn't happen, it won't be so much fun, and gambling addiction can become a problem...
Check out this cartoon, I found it funny:

I love that cartoon. Since the odds are always stacked in favor of the house, not losing money could be considered a win! I think gambling/risk taking can be a lot of fun, but you have to be able to absorb the losses. And it takes a lot of strength to not chase the losses.

Personally, when I play any game for real money (including poker), I assume that what I am bringing to the table is a sunk cost. If I end up profiting, that's a great bonus, but I need to know in advance that any loss is just the cost of playing the game and being entertained. I think you have to have fun, or else why do it?

Yes, Debbie! Fun should be enjoyed in moderation, and overdoing it with betting can result in no fun at all, right? I agree with you, although I don't bet online anymore because the site I used to play on wasn't regulated here. But when I played, I had fun! Changing the subject, I already received my cards, I hope you get yours soon! Hugs and good luck, dear!

Or forget your wallet at home, like the old lady in the comic strip above! Good luck!

I formulated them as follows:
Take the money you are prepared to spend and no more.
casinos are entertainment, be prepared to pay for it.
If you manage to win +50%, you should leave.

Totally agree with those statement Diva, and I would add to the 1st one: "And leave your credit/debit cards home" or it could be added as a 4th statement by itself.

I love that cartoon. Always baffled by people's astonishing capability of creativity (Art).

Don't limit yourself to just one casino! Try as many as you can. Each casino has its own atmosphere, and that's a lot of fun. Also, good luck, don't forget to post your blinds and be prepared to lose what you came to play with.

The answer is simple - save your money and don’t play casino games.

Valahol olvastam ezeket a tippeket kezdő kaszinójátékosoknak:

"-> Csak azt a pénzt vidd el, amire nincs szükséged.
->A szerencsejátékra felhasznált pénzt úgy tekintsd, mintha már elveszett lenne.
->Ha pénzzel távozol, automatikusan nyersz.

You are right you should not dive into it so it depends on absolute luck but I managed to win more times in casino than in poker

Or leave your credit/debit cards at home in the wallet you forgot to bring with you. LOL... Good luck, Sami!

If you lose more money in a casino than you planned to risk, you should seriously reconsider ever walking into one again.

I would not advise playing casinos for money, this is a 90% loss.

Hello. I think the second tip listed by you "Consider any money you take to gamble with as already lost" would be my pick to give to a newbie casino gambler.

Its important to understand the house has the edge and the longer you play the more the chance that you go home a loser.

The most important advice is not to base your life on this. There is a pretty small chance that your life will be better due to some small winnings. Even if you win a larger amount, there is a good chance that you will try again and spend the amount you won anyway. Play poker instead, it makes more sense. What is more important is not to spend your own money on this.

Sound advice - if you follow it...lol. Sometimes it just doesn't work like that.

Granny used to tell me as a kid. "Instead of gambling with your money, save 'em & buy what you need". So as the obedient grandson, I get everything I need & then gamble with the rest.

Know the signs of problem gambling behavior and addiction, and be able to stop if and when these signs start to appear in your own life. Obsession with the games, chasing losses, etc.

Grandmothers are often wise! “If” you have any money left over, good luck with your bets!
