What if CardsChat became a casino forum… would you stay or leave?

Just a random thought I had today while scrolling the forum…

What if one day CardsChat slowly shifted from mainly poker to mostly casino gambling?

Instead of tons of:

hand histories
bad beat stories
strategy debates

We started seeing more:

slots wins & RTP talk
blackjack strategy
sports bet slips
bonus hunting threads
general casino promos

Same members. Same community.
Just different games being discussed.

Do you think you’d still hang around?

Explain why or why not.

I think I 'd stay. After having met so many wonderful people in this community, members and staff alike, it would be very tough to just not open this platform every time I sit in front of my computer.

I would stay and participate in poker related games and leagues ,sure hope it does not happen,never been much of a slot jockey,rather bet on me over a one armed bandit

I come here for the poker, and also enjoy the General Casino and Community Chat forums. I look at them as complementary topics that some members will enjoy and get to know each other better. However, I can get those things elsewhere and my main reason for being a member is my interest in poker.

Depending upon what you mean by "mostly" I may or may not decide to leave. If it means that 51% of the content is casino gambling I'd probably stick around, 95% I'd probably leave, anything in the middle will be determined at that time.

Likely wouldn't stick around as I don't play casino games, gamble or make sports bets very much. Not enough that it's worth talking about anyway. So I certainly wouldn't be around near as much if at all.

I am not a casino gambler, no slots that is. and i am pretty sure that is what the casinos want us to play. So i would assume a huge push to play those games.

For me it's all about the community it's people the conversations about the poker casino sports whatever that's what it's always been about right

The main thing is to be able to play in CardsChat freerolls. If I have that opportunity, I will have money for other casino games. Without CardsChat freerolls, I would hardly be able to afford any other gambling games because I don't spend my own money on gambling.

I removed the poll because something about it makes it seem like it's an official poll, and I don't want members to mislead in thinking something that is not happening. The discussion and questions you're asking is fine, and you didn't do anything wrong with the poll @maronza1 - but I have removed just to avoid any confusion amongst members.

Actually, Cardschat is already a casino forum, however it still seems that its main activity is related to poker.

I don't think there's any reason for one to separate from the other because, in my opinion, poker fits well into the classification of games like casino, perhaps the best of them? Haha

Besides that, although Cardschat is a forum where poker was the reason that motivated us to be together on this journey... That doesn't mean it's the only thing that unites us. Many of us have been here for so long that poker is just another reason to be around, but no longer the mandatory one.

“Ohhhhhh is that what we’re doing now? Okay, let’s go! 🐦😂”

I mean, I came for the poker, then about people and the fun. Topics can change—community is the good stuff.

Definitely not trying to start a revolution or replace the poker tables.
Just a fun “what if” scenario to see how attached we all are to poker vs the community itself.
CardsChat without poker would feel like a casino with no chips anyway… something would feel very wrong 😂
Appreciate the clarification though. Still curious to hear everyone’s thoughts for fun!

Yeah that makes sense. Definitely didn’t mean for it to look like anything official or confuse anyone. It was just meant to be a fun “what if” discussion to hear different opinions.

But honestly that’s exactly it.
We all showed up for poker… then stayed for the people.
If tomorrow it’s birds, next week it’s chess, and the week after it’s slots, we’d probably still be here talking nonsense and laughing in the threads anyway 😄

Community is the real jackpot.
CardsChat just feels like home at this point.

My first thought was, that I'd maybe gradually lose interest......then I wasn't so sure, as I do like just being here and dipping in and out of all kinds of chat and engaing with the community.

I have zero interest in the casino side of things, so I suppose if it there was no poker content I may drift away, but that is unlikely to happen even if the forum was mostly casino, there would still be some poker.

Maybe I would be that renegade who keeps posting annoying poker content, just to keep it all going!! Haha

Btw you could easily see "hand history" in slots aswell since they are easily trackable nowadays so should anyone get some decent hit and therefore share the link of it it's easy to see how lucky they were (or unlucky if they were so close to max win) ...

And speaking of max wins then this casino section has been here for a while now but it looks like no-one has yet to get even a single max win which is probably quite strange

That was a relief.
Currently, I don't have the incentive to play casino games. So my activity on the forum would probably decrease, but since I like the community and the CC , I would make an effort to participate in events.
