Why are CardChat casino games so limited in country representation?”

CardChat is usually pretty well known for having a worldwide and diverse player base, but I’ve noticed the casino games seem a bit different. 😅

Just curious, is there a reason for that? For example, in the last game, 14 out of 27 players were from the same country, while most other CardChat games seem to have players from all over the world.

I’m just wondering what makes the casino games different from the usual CardChat player pool. What do you guys think?

Well that is a very unusual mix demographic wise,

4 US, 2 Canadian, 2 Brazilians, 2 from Mexico and 1 lonely Brit?...

where you guys at? 😅, although I don't play those games personally...😎👍

I think that's the 1pm ET sched? How does it compare to the 7pm ET sched?
Could it be because the 1pm ET sched is biased to western hemisphere timezone & unholy hour towards the eastern hemisphere? Its 1am my timezone so its pretty much unplayable. The 7pm et sched however is more playable at 7am my timezone. I play it as much as possible.

I think we covered this earlier this year 🤔
I’m more curious about the demographics, not why the field is so small. 😀

I think you answered that yourself in that thread:
Half of the field have dissapear since country restrictions.
I like the small field its nice to have one CC tourney that dont take 3h30 😀
Less countries, less people. And if we factor in that people have to "pay" a buy-in that can have an effect too. People who have difficulties with this language are usually not the ones with more coins to spare.

zero ? what are you suggesting MK_? i don't understand . are they all russian bots using VPN ?

Still doesn’t explain why banning a few countries would make such a difference, out of 190 countries in the world. Do most countries have restrictions on casino-related stuff?

So u play the cardschat casino freeroll at 7 am in the morning local time? Wow that's some real dedication. Those "norway" members seem to have no issue though playing all night from 1 to 4 european time. Everytime.

Thought norway is a rich country and there are better options to make money than that but ok to each their own 🤷

How do you know a VPN is being used?
What legitimate reason would there be for using a VPN to play on a free play site?

Just curious why do they pick Norway?

Its a cool country with amazing food like lefsa, but why pick it for your imaginary location?

.., I know because all of them used to play with their real location which is listed on the forum showing...

none of the Norway players are from Norway and 2 of the US players aren't from the US, they are all from another country,

I have no idea why anyone would need to use a vpn for a free play site.... or why Norway which is a great place I'm sure👍

Well, I'll just have to say it if none of you have figured it out by now.
It's all Biden's fault.

Because some countries even block playmoney sites

Well that may be true for some countries but not this country because there are people from that country playing with no vpn...

I think not everyone is ready to spend extra time writing relevant publications in the casino section, and therefore not everyone has the casino coins to participate in this tournament.

Sometimes replaypoker also simply shows the wrong flag. it's a poorly written site after all.
It once showed the German flag next to my replayname while I was playing without VPN in Austria

Thank you for your answer! 🙂 First of all, I have to say that I totally support Ukraine in their fight against the unjustified annexation of their territory, and I think they are defending their country very bravely. But let’s not turn this thread into a political discussion.

I think what some CC users were asking earlier in that thread is why use a VPN at all if you're in an allowed territory. They just find it a bit weird that almost all of them are using the same VPN in Norway, which is an odd coincidence.

Replay terms of use :

6.2.4 It is prohibited to use a proxy, vpn or any other method to conceal your location for the purpose of circumventing any geographical restrictions on Replay Poker.

In the event that you breach the rules above, we will consider this a material breach of these Terms and reserve the right to immediately suspend or close your Account and / or confiscate Chips obtained in connection with any breach

CardChats doesn't affiliate itself with any gray-area sites and has a very close relationship with its affiliate sites, so it would surely be a bit strange for them to blatantly associate with members who are obviously breaking the site's TOS.

The thread was really more about the unusual demographic breakdown than the number of players 🙂 And now, back to the main question of this thread: why do other countries have such low participation? 🙂

... aha... that's very odd but sometimes perhaps.. everyday for the same players..... nah...

Exactly. A lot of Ukrainian members (Especially) are using a VPN according to what I've noticed.
All those Norwegian flags don't mean the members are from Norway.

6.2.1 It is expressly prohibited to use Replay Poker to wager or otherwise play for real money prizes or anything else of value that is not available through the Replay Poker ecosystem.

........ it's so unusual.
But I think none of us are against cash prizes 🙂

We've already gone round and round on this subject. I've already asked Replay about VPN use and they said it was fine, so long as players are not circumventing geographical restrictions (which they are not). It is a non-issue in CC games, and pretty much site wide.

People use VPNs for any number of reasons, privacy, etc. There were times when my daughters were in the hospital, and I could not do my job here because the internet there blocked CardsChat (thinking it was a gambling site). A VPN allowed me to continue working from their rooms while they slept and rested.

Now, I don't understand why some players choose to use Norway, or some other country on Replay and not their own. Bottom line is it's not our business, and they are still easily searchable here on the forum, so it's not as if they're unknown.

And just to add, as it's already been said - probably the biggest reason a lot of folks you see in other games are not in these casino $100s, is because they don't take the time to earn the Casino Coins required to play.
