I also have a lucky number , sometimes I bet on it , but on casino slots it hasn't been proved to be lucky . Besides [his , I[ continues to be my lucky number . I guess many people do this . Why ? I am not sure .
antonis32123, I think the lucky-number habit is mostly about personal attachment. Even when it never proves lucky, people still keep coming back to it.

Toruk Makto, superstition probably explains a lot of it. Roulette seems to create those little personal rituals pretty easily.

Everything is equally likely to hit, so it doesn't matter which number you bet on. If it's the same one, you don't have to think about it. I like the zero.
puzzlefish, that’s the interesting part. Knowing every number is equally likely doesn’t stop people from feeling that one number is somehow special.

They keep on betting the same number to see their entire bankroll vanish eventually!
KeyPatience, that’s definitely the danger with chasing one number. A few misses can turn a simple bet into a much bigger bankroll problem.
Pabloro10321, superstition and caution can both lead to the same habit. Once someone has a favorite number, it’s hard to leave it behind.

out of superstition or just out of caution

Since every number has the same chance to appear, some players prefer sticking with one till it eventually pays for all the lost bets. Others have favorite numbers (Superstition).
najisami, I can understand that thinking, especially after several misses. The tricky part is that the next spin still doesn’t know what happened before.

My favorite numbers are 16, 18, 24, and 32. I bet on them when my intuition tells me to. But I don't have a specific system, I play intuitively.
Newzooozooo, 16, 18, 24 and 32 is quite a lineup. Playing them only when intuition says so sounds more like a personal ritual than a system.

When I worked at the casino, I convinced myself that it was a winning strategy: you should always play the same numbers.
miric007, working in a casino probably made that belief even stronger. It’s interesting how easily a repeated pattern can start feeling like a strategy.

Play the same number twice for a small wager then walk away fast !
RENEY444, keeping the wager small and walking away quickly is probably the simplest way to stop a lucky-number bet from getting out of hand.
