Pre flop is there any point raising with 22-99 at $10nl? I feel its best just to limp for the following reasons.
Aside from taking the blinds down there and then, the best case scenario is you will get just 1 caller. but then what??
Any overcard could kill your hand.
Even if the boards low and you have an overpair, the caller might have a random 2 pair.
They might just decide to call every street with JK and then hit
etc, I know we are fave here - but if a T,J,Q,K,A lands i dont know what to do.
At these stakes players love calling, and small pp (apart from 1/7 when you make trips) is so weak.
Why waste money pre flop with a hand that is usually beat by the river?
And also if you just limp and hit a set, you might have 4 or 5 people in the pot - a couple will have a pair or 2 pair and not fold. Then you bet it hard and let the chasers pay for any flush / straight draws.
Or am I missing something?
