AK vs JJ -- Kalmar out in 5th on the baby board. Kalmar qualified for the wsop in the very last satellite for the ME this year. Wow.

Have these guys got any idea about playing with a deep stack?

Kalmar reraises the South African chap all in with AK, called by JJ and no help from the board.

Why not see a flop??????

Too be fair, the stacks are not 'that' deep, but Irex is right:

the AK play is 'ok' (he cant fold it can he?)-- but the initial raise to 6x the bb w JJ is the one that got them both pot committed.

Yep the initial raise is high, but it seems that they are almost eager for it to be over and willing to gamble rather than make tough decisions, an almost fatalistic attitude.

I still think he had scope to call there and increase his options.

Must be tough though.

WSOP commissioner Jeffery Pollock just left-- spewing the 'we are all about the player' bs.

Read the recent commentary in one of the poker mags (Cory Zeidman?) regarding Harrah's increased rake and selling everything under the sun, including what can be on TV (espn only) in the poker room (they wouldn't change the channel to the Belmont Stakes!),

We are on break. They are showing Scotty's previous win.
Vince Van Patten as WSOP (not wpt) commentator interviewing Suzie Issacs (who I have played with at Seneca Niagara).

Hey, Mike the Mouth in the crowd to give congrats to Scotty!

The stupid "live update" still hasn't even reported this.

btw Harrahs even sold the rights to cover the event (to pokernews.com)- as pointed out in the editorial I mentioned, tantamount to telling NBC and ABC that they can't cover a news events because it was sold to CBS.

I'll join you!

Again, Gold's comments are very good: "(Yang) isn't thinking about what the table thinks of him, he's only playing his cards"

Interesting: Gordon has said a few times that you should lead into the preflop raiser when the board comes "blanks/rags".

Yeah, looks like he suggests a preemptive strike against a c-bet.
