If Cada was smart, he would take the money and run. Yang and Varkoni were smart enough to know they got lucky and would have their rear ends handed to them if they tried to play high stakes cash games.

Darvin is probably long gone. We won't see him until next year. He definately won't be playing any cash games.

Why does everyone assume that these guys must 1) become the ambassadors of poker, and 2) play high stakes for the remainder of their life.

These guys were normal Joes entering the tournament, and i'm sure to an extent they would like to stay that way. Until I see them repeat success in future tournaments, I would rather they not become ambassadors of poker, because that would be the slap in the face that everyone is referring to. And on a site that advocates strict BRM, I would like to think that people would agree that these guys should stay away from games that could cost them their entire winnings in 1 or 2 sessions. GL to them both, I wish them success, but i'm not counting on it. But if I had to put money on it, Darvin will have more future success than Cada.

Thanks for this info I will record it again & extend the timer to get all the show. Even though now I know who wins i still would like to see the heads up action.

I managed to keep blinders on for an extra day and just watched it tonight. Until of course my DVR had stopped. ESPN had what 3 months to plan this and couldnt' get it down to 2 hours? Couldn't reserve 3 hours? WTF. I was unimpressed with the quality of content that they did decide to show as well.

I'm glad for the Michigan boy to win it. (Even if he did win it with poor play and luck, as I learned here.) I hear his dad was a laid-off design engineer, and now I suppose a retired design engineer. I'm in the biz, and there are a lot of good families struggling around here.

As for being a poor role model to the next crop of players, I'm fine with that. The more guppies in the tank the better.

Hmmm jus when i shove with my 22's + 33's late in tournies i never seem to hold up against many over cards nevermind hit sets galore like suck out Cada.

I think Cada will float about in the big games like High Stakes Poker or Premier Poker League. Eastgate did it so i think Cada will jump on that band wagon too.
I hope he looses most of his million by making plays like shoving with his 44 against Tom Dwans crazy range of like 69s lol.

Oh I wish I would've known bluff radio was playing it live. I think we miss so much on ESPN. They seem to make Moon look like a donk, but you never know what happened prior to get to certain moments. I know it's hard for ESPN to only have 15 hours to edit all footage, but I was expecting better. Did Bluff radio tell you what the players had? Did they have access to the pocket cam?

....i personally wasnt impressed with the FT...i have never useen so many all in's pre flop before...in previous ft's, there are a few great hands, whether calls or folds, but in this it was just all in all in....best play was probably CADA calling heads up with the 9

but i really laughed with moon/..first he tries to bluff by raising to 15 million..then he folds to another 6 million with 44 million pot..but best bit ever was him to his wife straight after the hand "I had queens honey, but i put him on a draw and didnt want to call"...
imagine lying to your wife about what hand u had, then it been seen by a billion people...
i was also disappointed with how moon overplayed so many hands, and made bad calls...and was sad to see ivey not make more of it...and shculman was never even close to getting there...cada not the worst in the world to win, seems decent, think he will be there in the futre..thats my rant over

I agree... watching a Poker show and hearing nothing but chip shuffeling is awful. I agree that I like Mike Sexton's commentating better but Ill take Norman and Lon over some.

I agree Id like to see more hands overall but for the most part I enjoyed it.

I have to say it's really unfair to judge anyone's play based on the edited version. I mean in PAD they show a 6 person tourney in a period of 4 hours and the starting stacks are only 20K so we get to see every hand, imagine only the crazy all in, suck out or Phil Ivey involved hands were shown, it would be half an hour and everyone would like a donk.

I also think it was painful to watch Phil fold those J's to the Frenchy (Saut or whatever), but is it just me or did he seem disinterested the whole time? Even when he was surely going to the rail he didn't care a bit, just munched his apple and cracked jokes.

I dont like the way people are bagging Cada out over his suckouts. He was down to 2bb, got dealt a pocket pair and shoved it, it was the only thing he could do. He got called with higher pocket pairs and the board helped him out twice. Then when Moon shoved into his aces, that was just hard to watch it was such a bad move from Moon.

So yes Cada did have luck on his side but when you look at the way he played, most of it was good solid poker which is why he took it out

oooooooooh handbags out! Ill take this bet on aswell as im sure to win with cada. Moon has been playing for longer yes, but cada's online stats for pokerstars are quite good.

While I like Moon, I would think Cada will be a better bet. But not by much. I mean, how many sets did Cada flop to get to the final 9?

When he sucked out against Shulman with 33 that wasn't a bad play as he was so shortstacked there he had to push.
That all in with 22 move against Saout was terrible though as he had a decent size stack there and there was no pressure to move quickly, putting it all on the line with that hand.

The thing I find fascinating about Darvon Moon is that he apparently does not play online, and really only played with local buddies. Not even much in local casinos. No real experience, yet his game was mostly solid. He didn't break the mold till late in the Final table. He may end up being the first 2nd place finisher I will be able to name 6 months later.......

But give me that same run of cards and I could..............

From what I saw, Cada played everything right, and Darvon just moved the wrong way at the exactly wrong moment.

I would like to see some sort of "live" or slightly delayed full coverage. I mean there are 27 ESPN networks, plus all of the online outlets, there is bound to be a way. I guess one problem would be potentially having "scouts" watching said coverage and tipping off a player during a break or a rail conversation. I din't know how practical that really is, but just a thought.
