Ace high flush draws?!!

I was wondering what people think about when they get a 4 flush, ax suited situation on the flop, should you lead out and bet or check to actually make the flush first?

Pot control, check always. You want others to be spending their money, and don’t want the pot too inflated Incase you may have to fold at turn.

Also depends on position and stack sizes, but often it’s a paired board in position, vs unknown, and you have to ask yourself whether you wanna pot commit all in b/c that’s what e1/mp is gonna do if they’re smart. Implied odds after blank turn is also often very poor

I think alot of this depends of the villian and the math.

Example:

Hero 4 flush on flop, bets 500 into 800 pot.

(500/1300) = 38%
(9*1.5)= 13.5%
So villain needs to fold only a quarter of the time to make this semi bluff +Ev. If hero was preflop raiser I would say thats reasonable (although obviously this delends of villain)

As a tyrny player I think the general strategy is that you should play your draws aggressively. This way you have two ways to win the pot, as you can win it right away or even hit your draw. The number of players and their tendencies are very imortant here. If you are up against 3 loose/passive players on the flop, aggression probably isn`t the way to go. If you are the preflop raiser with one caller, a regular continuation bet is often a good idea.

Generally I think you should have draws is your bet/raise range to keep a aggressive style going. This way it`s harder to put you on a hand/range, and easier to get paid when your strong.

<div>that really depends, on a lot, definitely pot control, and I like to be aggressive to hopefully take it down then, but depends on chip factors, how tight or not your opponent is, just be careful, you don't want to go bust on a draw unless you have to, due to being short, or pot commited</div>

Just be careful on a paired board you could be drawing dead depends on position in tourney ICM how likely is your opponent to fold to semi bluff check call is the safest line then fold if miss safest but not the most profitable it really depends this draw can make or break your tournament good luck

In general, I try to balance my play. Sometimes I will lead out and sometimes I will look to trap. There is no right or wrong way to proceed based upon the limited information you have provided. Bet sizing is important. You don't want to become pot committed--especially, if it is a limped pot situation.

I will say my opinion. If the flop does not have paired cards, then you can make a check; if the flop has paired cards - then put at least half the pot to protect your hand.
