AK is an excellent hand!! a pair and good!! but the two highest cards in the game are more worthwhile.

Good afternoon.I would choose AK , if it´s suited even better.The 33 only to go all in being short.and just against one player.

I have seen pocket two's defeat ace's before so anything can be posable it's all dependent on the cards that are laid on the table and a feel when looking at the game.

I've seen a lot of players call 3-way allin with AK where most people fold TT/below pairs. Also in a full table tourneys, those low pairs are fold usually in early/mid positions. I've never seen anyone folds AK preflop without any action (except bubble positions or multi-way allins). Now you decide which is stronger.

The problem with small pairs is that unless you flop a set, how do you continue? The pair should be a slight favourite heads up but most people would prefer two big cards.

AK for sure..better odds of the other guy not having AA or KK since 2 are already gone then you should be at least a coin flip

well said, however I think there're still way more flops we would ignore seeing with 33. Unless you put yourself into tough situation by making hero calls. Heartbreak moment when you keep calling your 33s in a low numbers board and get counterfeited by river. Fold and cry is only option.

If I have more chips then my opponent I would even play 33 against his AK, at the same stack I would prefer AK and play tight

but i think that AK is premium hand, so is better than 33 it is not a premium hand name ;p

but in other way pre flop 33 is better little bit because is btw a pair, AK is only drawing to best hand btw.

but my awser is AK :0

33 vs AK

Seems per what I have read both hands are about even as starters. I would assume people would bet more on AK then 33. with AK you have 6 other cards in the deck to hit with where as with 33 you have 2. Also as others have said it would depend on how many players are at the table what your odds of winning are

By statistics the pair 33 is better pre flop, but I prefer AK, if I go all in pre flop it's a coinflip the pair 33 has a small advantage
