I feel far more comfortable with AK pre flop then 22. Despite 22 being easier to play post flop as it all comes down to the fact did you get your set or not.

In this case AK is much better
this hand has more outs and more often A or K fall preflop and postflop

I’d go with the AK but then be somewhat annoying when it doesn’t hit

On a 1v1 the 2s have a slight advantage, but once you add more players, the AK is clearly better as you are clearly under only against AA and KK

AK without doubt, 22 can win because of the % but overall is a very weak hand, and AK shows more strength and is comfortable to play

I would choose AK, because it would be better to play especially if there are 3 or more people in the all-in, you will play a flip against QQ, while from 22 you will dominate... and if u opponent heve AQ AJ, u have more odds with AK then 22 ...

Of course I will choose AK, go all in with a premium hand or a small pair, in my opinion the choice is obvious.

I’m going to take AKo if I don’t flop and flop is stronger for villains range it’s easy to lay this hand down and when you flip well it’s considerably ahead. Why 22 you’re just set mining or trying to get to showdown cheap. No a ton of EV in 22

I assume you mean shoving shortstacked in a tournament, then they are about 50/50.

I sure as heck wouldn't shove 22 if I expect more than one call.

edit: My bad, you said offsuit. I'd take 22 in that case if it's heads up.

1) you didn't mention it was supposed to be All-in pre-flop instead of post flop All-in. A huge difference.
2) you could compare AK suited against 22 and that still would be fair comparison. In fact, it's even then. 22 is a favorite against AK off suit. It is not a matter of opinion, it's math :)

AK since you're only an underdog vs AA and KK, and AK is still 30% vs KK. 22 is an 4:1 underdog vs 33-AA, and flipping vs any 2 overcards. It's 70% vs 1 overcard.

I need to know more about the situation. What position, stack size, what are the other player's stack size? Tournament or cash? If tournament, what stage of the tournament are we at?

The way the question is asked, you just basically say "clothes, red or blue?" and then give NO OTHER INFORMATION.

Pair

If you are heads up, 22. AK unsuited have only 6 outs. 22 are already winning.

I don't get the idea of going all-in with every pocket pair. 2-2 is a very weak one, worth a call or a mini-raise but not more. A-K has only two shadows (A-A,K-K), so if you are not facing with these cards, than approximately 50% - 80% chance you get. So A-K definitely.

I would be more likely to pick AK in any situation. 22 is not as strong as people like to think. If you know you won't have many opponents going to the flop, then maybe 22 can do it.

For me it comes down to # of opponents, size of pot and of course , position. Weigh risk vs reward. More than likely someone has already said this
