It is harmful in your life in general. Alcohol and drugs destroy your body which is supposed to be a temple of God.

I know that we should not play poker when we are not in our normal mental state, so, I don't think it's a good idea to play after using substances that can affect your mental health.

The vast majority of poker players are recreational players, poker is played in casinos, bars & home games, alcohol is mostly available in these locations. Sipping a few brews, or a drink or 2 over a 3 or 4 hours casual poker session is not likely to affect the outcome & if it does the person doing the drinking is most often going to be the one who loses. No harm no foul, simple matter of adults making choices.

I think they are harmful and affect our decisions. I will not drink alcohol or things that have a bad effect on my mind when I play poker.

if it is very harmful, because one does not play in the best way, in addition he is not aware of the limits, in which he is playing.

I do not drink more than 3 shots of alcohol. I know the body removes on average a shot of alcohol per hour, so do the math.
If I wants a force shot i just wait a minute or finishus up my, my fird shots furst.

Well i hope your question wants to be a rhetorical one. Poker is played in full mental faculties, if you play poker on drugs or alcohol it's like injuring yourself in a football match to reduce your chances of winning. All the excessive stimulation produced in the neurons system by consuming drugs or alcohol it will blur your thinking, your important decisions at the table will be wasted. So i would say is not just harmful but is disastrous for both your body and your money.

Wish y'all a good day!

Theoretically, the cleaner your brain is the better you think and concentrate. But it's possible to manage your game if you're playing a little high. There's an inspirational side about it if you do not intake those "remedies" in excess.

Sometimes I was lucky when I drank alcohol, I even won prizes in tournaments, but this is an exception to the rule. Alcohol and drugs are evil, you lose control of yourself and make mistakes.:)

It's like having a couple of beers and then going driving. Sure, you'll be ok (said everyone who's ever one it). Next thing you've messed up. It's the same with anything...alcohol and drugs shouldn't mix with 'serious' levels of poker. If you're playing with play chips or with your mates then fine, it may not really matter. Online with your hard-earnt money...I'd rather not mix them. You need to be calm, relatively stress-free and be able to think 100% efficiently. It's not possible with alcohol and/or drugs in your system, although at the time you may think there's nothing wrong with it because they lower your inhibitions.

I believe that alcohol and drugs are bad for everything, not just poker. I try to follow a healthy lifestyle, I do not use drugs, and I rarely drink alcohol.

I always take the game and my bankroll seriously, so I never allow myself to get drunk while playing.

I think it is, Poker is based on decisions you might take and you need a clean mind to do it.

In no case. In my opinion, this is unacceptable. As you can see, you paid for your mistake. I drink alcohol, but rarely and never while playing poker. Drugs are not acceptable to me.
