Has anybody played double hold cards hold'em?

I don't mean Omaha. I mean literally two hole cards each in two piles for every player pre-flop. You use the best two hole card pile at showdown, but you cannot use them interchangeably like Omaha. We have double flop holdem so why not double hole cards holdem?

Never heard of it, but sounds like a fun variation for a little change of pace.

Will obviously alter the betting. Rather than 8-10 players at the table, it would be like having 16-20 and every two of them know each other's hole cards.
