Has anyone else seen the new electronic poker tables?

Ever since pay-poker sites were banned in the US, I have lost $$ because the sites are happy to take money off my card but they wont pay out!! Well I recently went to a local casino and found the perfect table!
It is a dealerless electronic table that lets me play Texas Hold 'Em against other players live. To play is even faster than online and traditional players. Plus I get real human interaction; no more typing to chat.

Is it just me, or are these new machines the greatest thing to hit the casino floor!! :icon_chee :icon_chee
Let me know if there are others that share my optimism.

I dont want to go to a casino to play electronic poker...
I'll stay home and play Full Tilt.

LOL @ human interaction.

Casino poker is about the environment. The sounds of cards shuffling, chips shuffling, the sound of chips hitting the pot, the feel of scooping up a large pot, or pushing all of your chips in, even the feeling of peeking down at your cards and seeing AA. So many things that an electronic game can't give you. Its not the same exxperience at all. If you're at a casino, you might as well enjoy a live game.

Poker sites were not banned in the US. Certain financial institutions were prohibited from moving money to/from them. There are still plenty of "pay-poker" sites available to US players.

As for my opinion on the electronic table? I don't like it. If I'm going to the casino, I'm going to play cards, which in my opinion should involve actual...um...cards and stuff.

If people wanted to play electronic versions of popular card games, the casinos would have tossed all of their blackjack tables years ago.

How many electronic blackjack machines do you see floating around?

Video poker seems to be the exception (5-card stud variations).

I have seen a few electronic roulette and craps tables starting to pop up, but they don't seem to be getting much penetration into the market.

God forbid I ever see an electronic No-limit table in a casino.

I saw these in Vegas this year. I noticed there was not the usual hoot-n-holler going on around these as there usually is around a real table. Not to mention 24 monitors seemed to take the same amount of space that 3 tables with 15 people at each table would take. You had 1 person sitting every 3 feet with their "own bubble" as apposed to 3 people every 1 foot, leaning on each other with true human interaction.

BTW, I have an "electronic" table at my house in my bedroom. Why would I want to drive/fly XXX miles to see the same thing I can see at home?

Why would anyone want to essentially play online poker in a casino with people who are basically sitting next to me? The reason I prefer online poker is because it is convenient. I can sit around naked for countless hours at my computer playing hand after hand until I'm blue in the face! If I wanted to go to a casino I would play poker at a real table.

They have Pokerpro tables on Carnival cruise ships now and it definitely beats no poker at all which is most likely the alternative. I actually enjoyed playing on it. It was very sleek. My husband and I won about $1100 between us on the 5 day cruise.

I will allow that the $$ may have gotten lost, but either way I won and should have got my money! Electronic poker tables allow me to cash-in and out without problems!

There is a regulation in place prohibiting Internet gambling. Why else would states like Nevada be trying to fight the legislation? If you found a loophole then I applaud you. :deal:

I think it's an interesting idea. And furthermore, I think that some people will really like it! I however, enjoy the interaction with the dealer, and the pace that a game with a live dealer gives.

Yeah I agree with everyone else on this one. The casino is about Live play with live dealers real chips and cards. I would love to find the retard that made up this idea. The only reason I can see this being a benefit to the casino is they dont have to pay anyone to host the tables meaning all the money and rakes stay in play with the house. Hell I much rather stay home and play on FT myself in the comfort of my own home. Wow how stupid can you get on this one....

1. You said you were unable to cash out, not that you were robbed by some fly by night site. Again, all the major (UB, Stars, AP, FT, BD) US sites allow for fairly easy (if not particularly timely) withdrawal, although you may to get/wait for a paper check.

2. You are flat out wrong about the legislation. I encourage you to educate yourself here.

??? and Im not being an ass here what site screwed you out of your money?? It wasnt Canbet was it?? Me my bro and my Neihbor all got the shaft from them. Bastards!!! As for the electronic tables I rather play live at the Casino thats the whole reason I drive To Atlantic City as I play alot off of Instinct and am very good at picking up on tells. Best of luck with them though Im sure I will see them soon as Im set for the Borgata 500 buy in on Dec 9th In Atlantic City. Will have to check them out on the way to the real tables...LOL

Remember we had a thread on the Video Poker Table a while back. Really neat, you put your hands down, see your hole cards, place bets, yada yada. We all discussed how this will probably take over casinos in the future because they won't have to pay dealers......

The above article only explains the federal law about online gamble. There are 11 states that have state laws which prohibit online gamble. That's why when doylesroom reopened, it does not open to those 11 state players. Poker Player Home Page :: Articles :: Doyle's Room Returns to the US Market.

And yet it is still incorrect to say that "pay-poker sites were banned in the US"; not to mention there being a legal distinction to be made between playing poker online and "online gambling."

Seen these pokerpro tables at crown in melbourne the other day. But there is no point really, cos if your going to a casino to play poker, might as well do it the real way because these tables just ruin the good atmosphere.

They've got a section for PokerPro tables at Crown in Melbourne - while I don't dig them personally, I can kinda see the attraction.

For example, I've played a $65 tournament that they have there with live dealers every now and then. The strucutre is $50 to the prize pool and $15 to the house. They've recently moved this tournament to the PokerPro tables and, with the same buy-in, it's now a $55/$10 split. So the players are coming out ahead there.

You get more hands per hour too in theory, so the grinders looking to increase their BB/hr would be happy.

But personally... I go to a casino to play cards, with chips, and all that other fun stuff. If there happened to be a game that I really wanted to play on these tables I might give them a go, but I'm in no rush.

the electronic tables are like dak said way better then nothing , no casinos in my state but the horse track has electronic machines , slot machines that pay tickets that you can cash for the money , recently added blackjack machines and I'm hoping for some hold em machines soon. I think it will be different than online because of fake casino feel , just being out with lots of people around. of course I would rather play a real game at a real table but since its not an option here I'll take what I can get .
