Shit after today I have $2000 in my roll. (I was on $1400 two days ago )
I only have 30K hands at 50NL.

I've never played $100NL 6max before. The thought of losing 5buyins and having to move back down terrifies me.
Shud I move up?
Is it much different to 50NL?

If it where me i would wait until i had atleast 30bi but you should obvs. just do what makes u comfortable.

fwiw, i've beaten 100nl by more than 4 BB/100 over all the hands i played there, and yet i suffered a 14 buy-in downswing once. And that's playing mostly full ring, which is way less swingy than 6max.

heh i took a shot at 100nl with 15 buy ins with the intention of dropping back to 50nl if i was left with $1200

it worked out

it's not like i went "hey, hope i don't have a 15 buy in downswing and go bust!"

were you pretty much confident he wouldn't show up with an 8 here (based on his turn sizing, or that he didn't c/r flop, or whatever your read might've been), or was it more like you thought he could definitely play an 8 this way but he'd just have bluffs enough of the time? clearly he's repping a really narrow range, it's just that there are of course certain opponents who that wouldn't matter against since they'd virtually always have what theyre repping and not be bluffing here. did you already have a read that he was prone to big plays like this, or was it more of a hunch?

either way very nice call. just don't get overconfident! theres a fine line between brilliance and hero-call FPS spew mode, and all that

Man Do I know that mode well.

If the guys a semi reasonable player he's never calling with a 6 or 8 in his hand from the blinds.
A jack isn't shoving this as we certainly do have 6s and 8s in our range.

The range he's representing is Quads.
However I;d only make this call if the guy is reasonable. We don't want 78 to be in his blind calling range or for the guy to be the sort of idiot who shoves AJ in this spot.

Is a huuuuuddgee preflop nit, who spews a lot post. He had been showing 'bluffs' a couple of times on that table, which were lolable since they weren't bluffs, i.e. 3betting j8 and raising k3 on the button . I had also been really really aggro on the table. When he c/r turn i was just going to fold if i missed the flush, but he then super super super snap pot bet river, which he like never does with a made hand, so it was a timing tell ftw. Plus i don't think he has any 8's in his range prelfop since he's that much of a nit out of the blinds, so im only really scared of 2 sets of quads, and since he snap shoved, just seemed too non quady, of course it sucks when he has turned 77 into a bluff there and owns me hard but meh. He also wouldn't go ape here with a,j or something, he would only try to get stacks in withnut hands and bluffs apparently
