My attempt to increase opponent tilt :)

Hi guys so I was loooking the other day for a new avatar to replace my picture on pokerstars

now after scrolling through numerous sites I found a weird looking smiley face which first of all cheered me up instantly which cant be bad

and second I thought how would I feel if I lost a pot to such an avatar? hmm I would probably tilt

not because its a smiley face just the look its giving as if its laughing at you

So do you guys beleive such avatars can make opp's tilt??

Lol it's funny but I don't think it makes ppl tilt atleast the smart ones.

HI yeah I know that decent players won't but I think the micro fish or ''recreational'' players will tilt

tbh I dont know how long it will be till the blooming thing makes me tilt haha

I think what you say in chat and bluffs that you show will tilt players more. A good picture does not hurt though.

I wouldn't count on an avatar alone having any effect

I'd guess over a million hand sample your avatar is gonna be statistically irrevelant, but the time you spend looking for these sort of edges, instead of working on your game will be -ev for you. You want a real tilting edge, introduce your opponents to my first ex-wife.

Haha slow playing and small bets when you hit a hand to induce larger bets. Classic effective, yet slippery. I kinda like it but it fires back at me. That's the nature of the game

Interesting thinking .... that might actually work on someone but in general i would not be counting on that in longer term.

If there is any avatar or picture that irritates me..I just turn showing it off and that' s it

I have to say i never thought abut this before but nice to see that players are still trying to find some edge not only in the game but in psychology as well

I have encountered numerous avatars that have made me tilt and spew chips hence why I block all avatars, I know for the record that all good players block avatars for this reason but I was merely thinking about the fish and more recreational players who are emotionally involved in pots to then lose to an avatar thats got a smug smile is very tilting it would tilt me any ways

Pretty sure good players don't tilt from avatars.
I must really suck because I leave them on. It actually helps me to visually identify players more easily... ie. I see the player's avatar & am reminded of how they play certain hands/spots, etc.
On sites that have no avatars I find this more difficult... and on sites that have no avatars & no names, it's even worse for me.

Well you have a higher emotional threshold than me then I can't play with avatars on. plus I personally find them too distracting. But each to there own, I tried it and I didn't see any benefit so changed it cause it was starting to tilt me.

Ah Kenzie, making me laugh-out-loud since 2005.

The only avatars that tilt me are ones with like The Exorcist chick, or something like that (creeps me out, so I block the image...lol...I'm such a child

). But playing live, I found that the more chatty and friendly I am at the table, has gotten those people I was friendly with to respect my raises more, or give me more info (i.e. showing me their hands before they fold, etc.). Or maybe it's just because I'm a girl...but still, I'll take it!

yeah i think avatars are quite important....need all the help online to get a feel for the table...and playing with avatars hidden will put you at a disadvantage imo....good for remembering stuff and without them would be harder

and yes some avatars can put me on tilt if it sucks out on me or something...lol

Yeah I agree they are good for remembering things and specific players but I opt use notes and coloring system rather than have the avatars just because if I seen an avatar of someone that previously pissed me off with like a stupid grin or silly statements then I would be more likely to enter pots when I shouldn't as opposed to if it was a note I'd more than likely stay away
